I've always wondered what my fellow Radicons do for a living.
I get confused for working in some kind of Graphical job because of my Photoshop work.
When really I'm a Landscaper/Snowplow Driver & I also do all the autobody & painting of the trucks for my work.

So what do everybody do ???

And for the record, NO I did not put the tractor in the pond.
That was some genius on my crew that did it. :rolleyes2

Well, as of July I became self employed! My girlfriend and I create art made from slate and stone. We work on pieces during the week and set up at art shows on the weekends. Although we have had to streamline our finances a bit, for the most part our income is as good as when we had "normal" jobs! Add in the luxury of working at home most of the time, and ya can't beat it! We are also getting over that "starting up" point, so I should have more time to devote to kitbashing, which will also hopefully be another source of income for us. I still mainly want to 'bash for myself, but a commission here or there is a nice little bonus! Here are a couple examples of what we make:

So it just goes to show you guys, follow your heart and take the leap of faith! We all have talents, and to love what you do for work makes it seem like no work at all!:thumbs2:

Umm I suppose I am a student first and foremost. Working on my BA in Graphic Design full time and project after projects keep me busy plenty. Customs is how the monies made as well as some off and on work for smaller toy companies which when I can snag them is awesome cash. Everything is going pretty good at the moment though with the economy issues I am seeing tighter pockets and less commissions recently.

My family and I currently live in the Kanagawa prefecture of Japan, as I work on the US naval base in Yokosuka for Submarine Group 7 as a member of the operations department.

I have been in the U. S. Navy for 7 years now (with three left on my current hitch!); I am a 2nd class Electronics Technician (with a specialty in navigation - it's a weird submarine thing). I am currently on my first shore tour, following my previous tour onboard the fast attack submarine USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN 709), for about 4 and a half years.

I also love to draw, as some of you may know, and plan to have a degree in graphic design prior to my separation from the military. I'm also slowing expanding those talents into the world of customizing Transformers.

That's a picture of my boat pulling into Norfolk, VA, having completed her final deployment. If I squint long enough, I could identify everyone in uniform. She would later travel to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME, for decommissioning.

I work as a Certified Maintenance Technologist (fancy wording for licensed mechanic) at a Waste Water Treatment Facility. We have a capacity of 250 million gallons a day, on average we handle around 100 mil. If it goes down the drain....residential, street, business....whatever, it comes thru my plant.

I fix and maintain all kinds of equipment....mainly pumps and presses. I've been sprayed/covered in "IT" head to toe, I've stood in "IT" knee deep before to do an emergency repair....whatever the job takes.

I'm the lead design engineer for a company that builds thermal testing devices. Our "main" prodcuts consist of full size manikins that heat up, sweat, breathe, and walk. Weirdest niche market ever.

I play with Transformers, full time.

    Okay, I don't. I have THREE jobs!

I just started a very lucrative job as an Executive Recruiter (YES, a headhunter) for the large-scale construction industry. Our firm's big cap-feather is that we recently found and placed the Project Manager for the Freedom Tower in NYC. I had nothing to do with that account, of course, so I didn't get the six-figure commission from it. :p

At night, I'm an Adjunt Professor of Communication Studies at the college here in Asheville. I have a Master's in that field, and a smattering of Bachelors Degrees.

    Also, Part-time rock star: www.kenkrahl.com

    Great thread!

I'm an unemployed autobody tech. I spent $17k cash for an education in automotive collision repair. By the time I graduated the work was no longer in demand in my area. So now I make a living by selling toys online. Hell some of the people reading this thread probaly bought some of my stuff. Thanks for keepin me goin!

I'm currently a freshman college student going for a major in Media Art and a minor in Theatre. My goal is to be either a photographer or an actor on a Soap Opera, I couldn't make my mind up on which one.

Things are looking promising though, I'm one of the few freshmen to be made editor of the college's yearbook, and I've also been cast in the lead role for it's musial. slightly impressive if I do say so myself.

My main income is ebay really. During the summer I go to 4-5 fleamarkets a week, buying up stuff to sell. Though I sell duplicates of transformers I pick up, I deal mostly in Power Rangers. There's a fairly decent market for it as during the summer when I have a nice flow of items, I make $100-$150 a week-cleared.

Since graduating in 2000 I've held down two jobs Childcare provider/teacher's aide/Bus monitor/Family Social Worker and that was all in one job. I had that one for 5 years. 2000-2005.

2005-2007 I worked at Honeywell manufacturing parts that went into everything from medical equipment, auto mobiles, and military missiles and vehicles. That job I loved it gave me a hands on look at how things work and problem solving when they crashed which contributed to helping me get better at kitbashing.

But as of 2007 I had a near death incident with my asthma and my doctor gave me the disability talk. It has gotten worse since I was younger and it at the point to where anything and everything triggers it. My current status is full time dad. Like Mr.Mom,all I'm missing is the flannel shirt :lol .

At this time my significant other and I are in the process of writing and illustrating a children book. We figure heck we both have experience in child development and children of our own why not.Besides kitbashing I love drawing. Here's a link to my gallery or sorts.
