I've wanted to start a podcast for a while (I have a home studio going underused), but never really found geeky subject matter I enjoyed that wasn't thoroughly covered elsewhere.

Then, riding in my car, listening to WTF@TFW, I got to thinking: what about a Radicons podcast?

I know I'm still a beginner at the actual art itself, so I'm certainly not doing this as any kind of an "authority." I've been hanging around for more than two years, though, so most of you know me. Even though customizing is a distinctly visual medium, there's a lot of discussion that can go on.

Right now, I'm mainly just testing for interest. Would people here listen to a, say, weekly half-hour or so roundup of what's going on on the Radicons board?

    Ideas I've brainstormed:

-Discussion of notable customs from the week
-"How-To Tip" of the week (submitted, of course)
-Skyped discussions with board members about their newest work
-New molds that are prime kitbash fodder (Hulk Crossover, anyone?)
-Activity in the community, such as new repros or Reprolabels

Post here, and let me know, honestly:
    -Is this worth doing?
    -What could it be called?
-What possibilities for content have I forgotten?
    -Would you listen?

    Thanks!

I don't have a whole lot to add here but I think it's a good idea and I'd like to be a part of developing it if you need some help. Not sure how collaborative podcasts work as far as recording but I have a pretty good amount to say about customizing

Perhaps one episode per month could include the featured Radicon of the month, to tie in with the thread feature.

I thought of that, and would love to do it, as long as it wouldn't steal focus from the main article. A lot of work goes into that. Perhaps something less in-depth, with submitted comments from and/or about the featured Radicon.

Lucs, I'm sure any help you can give would be fantastic. :)

This sounds like a great idea. You'd have an instant subscriber in myself. :> I'd love to be able to contribute in some fashion, but I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with something worthwhile... heh.

Back in my podcasting days, I contributed a little to, and was a subscriber to the "Amazing Customs" podcast. The upshot of which point is that it worked pretty well, despite the visual-aspect of customizing. There's a lot of podcast-friendly material to discuss in terms of tips, base-figure discussions, materials etc. I'd definitely subscribe :)

Who's "we," and can I be part of the "we?"
I'm kind of on a roll with this idea; I'd be interested to hear what else is going on up there. :p

The idea sounds great. Is there other podcast that deal with the same kind of subject matter? I've tried searching kit models on I tunes and found nothing.
I would totally be on board with this.

Hm. I didn't know something like this was already in the works. I don't want to step on any toes, of course.

There seems to be a lot of support, here, though, so I'd like to be proactive and develop some ideas anyway, if that's all right with the staff.

If no one's actively heading up the effort right now, please keep me in mind-- I seem to be good at letting cats out of bags. ;-)
