RaI plan on stenciling some tribal tattoos on this baby. Problem is that I can't decide whether or not to paint the silver parts red as well. should i leave it as is or paint some of the parts more?

leave them silver! I would do the tribal stuff in a darker red (if on the red parts) or a darker silver (if on the silver parts)

I've always had a weak spot for smokey looking graphics. I think they are called "ghost" style on vehicles. Wait'll you see my starscream...he's keeping the tattoos - but they will be only seen from certain angles.

ohhh. that's awesome. I talked with car buff regarding about shades and tones appearing only on certain angles. Buffing the first of colour then putting the top coat. then buffing again. I haven't seen this yet on toys. DUDE! that would be so awesome if we see the tattoos like that! damn! I have yet to use that dremel i bought 2 years ago. lol

I certainly hope to see this on a toy as well. I've been meaning to try this as well. might go for it as well.

yeah - they make "tinted" vinyls, which would work well on good clean paint jobs. basically it takes the color under it and clicks it a few shades deeper. I'd imagine if the space allowed it, the tribal designs could be made in this vinyl then just applied.

i'm going the other way i think. not sure if its the same technique. pearl automotive paint for cars. 12$ cad a can. it shows two tones depending on the angle. buffing will be a bitch to do since i never really tried it before.

i decided to continue with the normal tattoo stenciling. the paint cans were harder to track down than i thought but i also have a Cobra Pagi MKII already in the works awaiting for this ellusive paint.
