I'm not sure how they could improve on them.......and the original molds are apparently done.

If I can buy G1 Rhino box set DVD's from the US, and the Beast Wars set from Australia, surely American peeps can buy Robots in Disguise from the UK without much bother?

that's good! it did have a hell of a lot of great molds, even if most of them were just repaints from other lines!

and the cartoon was pretty cool!

    loved the final episode!

it was by far the best of the "anime" transformers series too! *at least that made it over here*

    repaints? new molds?
    it's been done before!

the sunstreaker mold would make a great prowl! and the ironhide classics mold could work for x-brawn. or hell, movie Brawn could work! and they already did sideburn!

Thanks for remembering this date. I owe RID A LOT. Well, I started watching it as Car Robot and it was the series that got me back into collecting.

Great toys, maybe still superior to most of the ones that came after. I still think Omega Prime or God Fire Convoy is as great as a Masterpiece toy.

The series got some of the best characters so far, Scourge or Black Convoy sama, and Skybite or Gelshark. The series was fun!

    Al hail RID!

    A laser goes dark
    Villain forged from a hero
    He's the real Scourge, punk

    A gap in the cast
    Who wants some more Bruticus?
    Molds, run into ruin

    They race along rails
Lines of steel lay out their way
    They still choose their path

Whilst I wasn't the hugest fan of RID, every time Scourge showed up made me happy. Scourge, not Nemesis Prime!

EDIT: That picture of Ruination reminds me how much I like his batshit crazy camo schemes. Ruination, awaken!

I really loved RID. The show didn't take itself seriously for the most part, but it did bring Autobots and Decepticons back after the Beast Machines/Animorph era. For that, I'll always be thankful.

I've never watched RiD, and I don't even know the underlying story, but I love the contributions RiD made to the Transformers brand. The toys were astoundingly well-designed, and they were also the first proper return to vehicle modes. In fact, one of my favorite things about RiD is the coexistence of animal and vehicle modes. I know Beast Machines laid the concept down earlier, but I think RiD deserves credit for developing it further.

I'm not sure what else to say, as I'm really in the dark about RiD, but I'm grateful for its presence in the Transformers brand.

I can't believe it's been ten years. I remember watching Battle Protocal, I had already bought all the toys from Wal*Mart and Target at that point. I fussed with Optimus and the Car Brothers while it was on.

RID has a strong 9/11 connection with me, as I'm sure it does to a lot of people. I remember watching all the news coverage on that day and I had actually been out earlier in the morning, before it happened, and had bought Ultra Magnus and was attempting Omega Prime when I 1st turned the TV on at 9 something in the morning.

RID is what brought me back into Transformers & Collecting them. From the 1st time I saw Autobots on the shelves again I was hooked. Especially when the Decepticons came back.

I still display all the opened RID toys that I have left. It is still one of my absolute favorite lines.

I too remember watching Battle Protocol live on a Saturday morning. No one else was up in the house, I went down in my gym shorts and turned to the channel, waiting for this awesome epic intro to the series. The Japanese series had some pretty kick ass music for it, rock themed Jpop style.

The logo pops on, and all I hear is "TraaaaaansssFOoooorrrrMeeerrrs" in a cheap tinny robo voice.

So, while I love the show, toys, overall presence of the line, that is my memory of today's anniversary. It's part of the package, but that intro music sucked. :) .

Awesome line. Still display my RID Prime and Megs with all the other generations of them. Still have a majority of my collection sealed. That's when I started buying 2 or three of all my TF's just in case I wanted to open them and display robot/alt mode.

This was,if not will always be,my favorite transformers series.Even if optimus didn't sound like optimus,he was still really cool in my book.I already have rail racer and the autobot brothers. All I need is optimus and ultra magnus to finish my holy grail. The only thing that dissapoints me the most is I've come so close so many times to finding optimus either at shows or at flea markets just to see he's either missing his ladder section, too overpriced,or...*shudder* yellow.lol
