has anyone seen these rev robots there just like transformers
they even have alliances
I've seen em in stores. They actually look pretty interesting, not sure I'll bother picing any up, though.
Hey Booboo, got pics? Or a link?
here's one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1STfYxt-s8
Oh, I didn't know they were part-formers.
I poopoo R.E.V.s for lacking the engineering needed to pull off a decent transformation sceme. Transformers indeed, bah.
They don't just fire lasers, they fire missles!
hmm i know them, saw them a few weeks before.
they´re from matchbox or hot wheels, right?
Seems the big thing with REVs is the mix 'n' match factor. The "transformation" is pretty cool, though. Just think of them more as Pretenders... well, works in my head at least.
Still don't think I'll be buying any, though.
they are uber lame
i saw these in target. sitting right next to the transformers looked down and looked right back over to the transformers.
Save your money, man.
I bought one, it sux. Kinda like a parts Pretender except the robot itself doesn't transform. I bought one because:
1. It was cheap.
2. Wanted to see what it was all about. I bought bad guy sports car.
i saw that at target 2 i was thinkin bout gettin 1 4 my lil bro but i gotta Rodimus instead
R.E.V. = Transformers wannabe.
I took some pics of one of the street striker sized figs a while back.
Ypu can't realy compare them to TF's cause it's only the robot<-->Vehicle concapt that they have in common and the line seems to be haunted by bad QC.
For example: I had to go through three other AXLs bafore I found this guy, the others had defects on shoulder joints etc.
But I like him, it's fun too pose the inner robot, try and find varius configurations for the car parts and not too mention zipping him across the floor using the pullback engine
the head looks cool ^^
I think these R.E.V.'s are crap. Worst than even the Robo-Rods. At least those have a Transformery feel to the designs, instead of an action figure hiding in a shell feel.
That's what I thought at first too, but immediatley when I had managed to free this guy from his twisty tie prison I changed my mind.
Sure it's hell getting it into vehicle mode and there's a lot of small parts to keep treack of but he's like cool and he was realy cheap
REVs also previously discussed here:
Seems like there was another thread on them last month, but I'm too lazy to look for it. So here's the official site, for your perusal:
And as I mentioned in the linked thread above, they seem to be at least good for kitbashing TFs. But I'd wait until they go on clearance which will likely happen by summer as they don't seem to exactly be flying off the shelves.
I've been tempted to pick up one of the cheaper ones to see what they're all about. I know I can't compare them to Transformers thought because they AREN'T transformers. We'll see. I'm too busy blowing money on a bunch of Classics Starscreams and Ramjets for kitbashes.
