    Hi,

A few months ago I purchased one of JD customs Quintessons. (just prior his going offline). Now A-Rabid-Squirrel productions has taken the mold and added a few alterations. See it here

I have recently started to paint the thing and it is starting to look awesome!

But I can't decide on what color to paint the actual face parts! I want it to stay as show/movie accurate as possible. And I definatly do not want it to end up like this one: [IMG] (no offence to the owner/ painter, but it's not my taste)

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Quintessons are scary. Ugly creatures. Yet I like what you are doing.

Ok, great guys, but that still does not answer my question! What color should the faces be?

If your looking for a metallic look without it being out right silver: I usually mix an acrylic white with a light silver. This still gives you the metal look but not as hardcore as in your example pic. I use Citadel acrylics. They are produced for metal miniatures (by the company that makes Warhammer, and Warhammer 40K) so they actually apply to plastics quite nicely and don't suffer when you seal them. This pic shows how it looks:

Hope this helps, the Quintessons are looking awesome!

Hey thanks! I'm trying the silver-white right now on a jewelcase first to see how it will come out. I don't like using citadels on big surfaces as IMO it leaves too many textures instead of a nice smooth finish. I do use the citadels on a my 1/100 Gundam pilots and other very small figures.

Though I am still hesitating on putting the color on the faces as I do like the white on the faces...

Yeah the white does look nice too. Maybe use the silver/white mixture to fill in any lines and/or recesses to give the hint of metallic composition. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
