UPDATE: Instead of doing a blackwash, I did a patina-like discoloration. Dipped the brush in both metalic green and copper, then mixed to various degrees on the figure. Went over some of it with gunmetal grey as well. Scroll down a bit to see the thumbnails

Still need to do a blackwash on the grey plastic, and then silver highlights, but here's where it's at so far. The sword is the Star Saber from Beast Hunters Prime.

Full body shot. I might shave the knuckle claws off the hands used as filler on the chest later, or I might not. Haven't decided.

Did a little bit of silver drybrushing on the head to make it look faded and worn.

Painted the hands (clearly), and did a little dry brushng on the guns as well. Tried to do some silver drybrushing on the grey plastic, but it's so similar in tone that it doesn't stand out. So I'll do something else.

Here's the other hand, and the Star Saber painted in a more fitting color scheme. You can also see some dry brushing on Snarl's Stego-plates, and the ...um... crotch region.

Here's his feet. Dry brushed with a little silver to add a worn look, then topped with gold highlights.

Never would thought to paint the hands and feet to make it more cohesive. Well done! Makes me want to try it

Well done! I really like what you did with the chest filler and dry brushing, I want to incorporate some of these ideas into mine.

Does the paint wear off when you apply it to the ball joints?

I would imagine it does, which is why I tend not to move my figured too much when I've applied a custom paint job.

Thanks. I was planning on painting the feet and hands also. I guess I'll leave the ball joints unpainted since I like to transform them.
