Hey guys, I saw the Megs (Tank) and Optimus Classic Combo at Toys R Us today and it came packed with the DVD. What's in the DVD? Is it a G1 episode?

The DVD is not an episode per se. It's more of an overview of the conflict between Prime and Megatron across the lines/stories.

Thanks a lot, bro. I may pick it up. OPP looks awsome on the set, and the DVD sounds interesting.

    Thanks again.

The DVD is the best part of the set, both the figures are terrible.

I almost picked that set up a couple weeks ago, but upon closer inspection, those figs just look cheap/prone to breakage. I was curious about the DVD content as well...thanks for the heads up guys!

I really like Optimus and Megatron isn't bad. I'd rather he had a right had and maybe was a different character, but overall, I'd say it's a good set.

The dvd is ok. Figures are ruined by thier "twisting" action attack, or whatever you want to call it.

Oh, and is there any way to make prime stop twisting?

I have to put a word in for Megatron. That is a great toy! There's nothing wrong with him.

Optimus is crap because of the waist.

The DVD is crap. It's a summary of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron conflicts. Isn't this set supposed to represent a continuation of G1? I think it's dumb that the DVD is from another continuity.

How is it crap just because of the waist, though? Is it because the waist joint spins when it needs to and locks solidly in positon when it doesn't need to spin?

Teach me the ways. How does Optimus lock into place? If that's the case, then I think he's a great toy too!

I was wondering about the DVD too. I almost got the set yesterday but decided to pass. I already have Classics Megs and Op which are much better anyway. Not to mention that the $20 I would have used on it I used on Classics Jetfire when I found him today instead. I also found Mirage. Now if I could only find Grimlock.

He who rules the skies, wins the war.

Prime is junk, feels like a knockoff. Megs feet are on backwards and has no right hand, sucks. The DVD however, makes a handy coaster.

Now that I know how to get Prime to stop spinning, I have to put in a good word for him, too. Good sculpt, good articulation. Crappy alt mode. But this is the look I would have wanted for an updated G1 Optimus. The Voyager Classics Optimus strays too far.

To lock Optimus and keep him from spinning, pull the sping action trigger out. It doesn't feel like it will extend out any, but if you pull hard enough you will feel it 'click' and lock into place, and so will Optimus' torso (Make sure his torso is centered when you attempt this). Be sure to pull STRAIGHT out, and not too far, it only moves a millimeter or two. But when it locks, you'll know.

I thinks Megs is fairly nifty, and I call him Brawl to help boost my D-con forces. optimus on the other hand, well the bot mode looks good, but the truck mode just makes me want to cry. I liked the DVD as I rarely got to see any episodes of the AEC continuity

Personally, it's crap to me because of the shitstorm of a truck mode and the god-awful head sculpt. I will say it's damn nicely articulated though.
