I've been going through my CD collection the past couple days and have noticed some of them skip because of how badly they're scratched.

I've heard of quick fixes like spreading shaving cream over the CD and wiping away the excess so that the scratches get filled in, but does stuff like that work.

Anyone have any of your own home remedies to make your CDs playable.

Find a music store with one of those cd fixing machines. Its like $2 a cd, and they'll fix some insanely scratched cds. My Metallica black cds was so scratched cd players wouldn't even accept the cd, but now plays perfectly and is even recordable.

I use novus #2 plastic polish. Use it as you would car wax. I have used it numerous times on netflix dvd's that my player wouldn't read, as well as cd's.
