I saw the Bruticus upgrade kit that adds barrel extensions to Onslaught's rather dinky cannons, then I saw that I had 2 plastic rolls left over from a couple rolls of dog poop bags. Decided to slip them over Hot Spot's guns because I had him handy, and tada! Instant weapon upgrade! Now Defensor has some proper guns: I'll need to sand and topcoat these so they'll fit Defensor better, but they're otherwise perfect for him as is. The ones for Onslaught will need paint, but should make him look much better in vehicle and torso mode. I'll post some pics of Onslaught when his are done, but first we'll need to use up a couple more rolls of the bags so I can have some more tubes.
I have been saving those cores for a while now just in case a custom use came up... I will be copying this idea over the weekend lol.
I keep saving mine, then recycling them because I can't think of anything to use them for. So glad things finally lined up and that I could share a use for em It might take a little work to get the size right, but a Bic pen shaft might work similarly.
Wow, that looks really cool! Unfortunately, I have no dogs and so I have no plastic tubes lying around. Any alternative gun barrels? Also, your Defensor looks really great! The detail you added really brings out an animated style!
I shall dub them... shitguns! I've actually been hoping to do this, except with a hexagonally sided barrel, unfortunately, the only pencils I can find that fit the bill are too thin to look good on the guns.
Thanks I was digging through my box of random bits and found a bunch more tubes. Unfortunately a "standard" white tube Bic pen is too small to fit over the gun barrel without cutting, but if you have a place nearby that sells Bubble Tea or extra thick Malts / Shakes, they're likely to have thicker plastic straws that should work very nicely. While I'm out and about tomorrow, I'll see if I come across anything else that might work too. Hexagonal barrels would look so cool!
