Okay, forgive my crude digibash, because I just wanted to get a quick look at what my proposed repaint/kitbash would look like:

What do you guys think of this repaint/bash idea? Yea or Nay?

I'm feeling the upper body, but i think something need to be done about the lower body. Need to be "more beefy" (IMO).

    ditto on what nem.predaking says.
i like it because it's a soundwave and soundwave is seriously one of the best
transformers ever created, but i just don't see him as a copter... ever
but that's just my two cents.

It reminds me a lot of the helicopter Soundwave they used in the early 3D testing for the movie. Nice.

Personally I think it looks great. I think Soundwave works fine as a helicopter, and the arms, chest, and shoulders are surprisingly effective.

I think one thing that might really help it feel "Soundwave-y" is the addition of a shoulder cannon/cylinder of some sort. I don't actually own any versions of this mold, so I'm not sure about the details of its transformation... what happens to those guns that hang off the wings on either side? If those are removed for transformation, you could replace them with cylindrical guns and then mount one on the shoulder in robot mode. (Pardon my ignorance about the mold.)

    I like this idea...

And on that topic, are there any sellers currently carrying the blue version? All I see are the desert cammo versions.

It's perfect. And simple. Just get that blue Bulkhead KO and slap the SW head on it. Touch up some details with paint and presto - a great SW kitbash.

This is an awesome idea, and not hard to pull off. Now I'm tempted to do such a custom job when I buy that Bulkhead KO.

I do like it, and it actually reminds me a lot of Cybertron Soundwave - there's certainly a lot of similarity in the arms and legs to my eyes. I'd suggest a much darker blue, though, and I agree that a shoulder-mounted weapon (or radio equipment), while far from essential would help to give more of the Soundwave feel to the fig.

Thanks for the great feedback all :D

I'll be taking the double-cannons off Bulkhead's "wings", and making them mountable on his shoulders. which should help with the Soundwave-feel. As for the Bulkhead KO, I didn't know that was around. I already have a spare genuine Bulkhead, and was planning on using that :)

Looks pretty cool. I've had the idea of making a Shockwave out of this mold. If I ever get the chance to get my hands on the KO, I might kitbash him into either Shockwave or Soundwave (both if I could get my hands on 2 of them). For a quick digibash its really good.

hate to drag up an old post, but seeing that mold in those colours reminded me more of Thunderwing. Really interesting colour scheme, well done.

Also how hard are those KO to get?
