I'm thinking of upgrading to the newer model of Xbox 360, the "Slim" that I've been seeing in stores for a while now.

Anybody here have one? How big of a difference do they make?

Incredibly quiet when it's running compared to the original.
The hard drive placement is really cool.
You basically run your hand above (not even touching) the sensors to turn the console on or open the disk tray.
Runs a bit faster too. I can also play it a ridiculous length of time without any lockups.

If you are going to get one, get one with a hard drive. I got the non-hard drive one as a gift, and although it has 4gb on board storage I had issues playing Halo because it didn't detect an actual hard drive. So I had to shell out 130 for a hard drive. But with a 250gb storage capacity, the whole thing is working out marvelously. I love it.

If you have the spare cash and want a nice upgrade, go for it.
