Big fan of Watchmen before and after the movie but is there any chance of us seeing a new graphic novel on the plot of the movie with modern comic art?
Doubtful. The art was already originally done in a retro-like style(EC art style) purposely. If you've read any EC comics from the 1950's, you know exactly what I mean. Dave Gibbons admitted to this later on but I always knew it was a "kind-of" homage to the EC style all along.
You kids with your pacman video games, hula-hoops, and updated art. I'll never understand you. The blasphemy of your statement. How dare you sir! I would love to see a Watchmen prequel about when they formed as a super-group and their first big adventure.
I want a Minutemen prequel AND a Tales of the Black Freighter spin-off. A lot of the Minutemen escapades and Black Freighter issues that Moore talked about briefly in Watchmen sound worthy enough to be turned into proper comics.
They should let Jeph Loeb and Rob Liefeld update it since they're both friend with Mr. Moore. It's time. 20+ years is way too long to have to have read that piece of crap, I need a remake/imagining!
I actually wouldn't mind seeing something like this, solely for the humor value of having a graphic novel adaptation of a movie that was itself adapted from a graphic novel. Get Greg Land and Pat Lee onboard too, and I'm sold.
