I was looking at some of the Human Alliance Soundwave's on eBay and noticed that some are the Hasbro version and some are the Takara version. Why are there two different ones I thought that Hasbro didn't produce any? Also I am guessing the Takara is the better one as their quality is much butter.

 

They are Hasbro/Asia releases with the hasbro seal, thats the difference.

But you should totally get that one, takara makes quality cards!

Oh good then because I was really hoping Hasbro was going to release in the movie trilogy line but since they isn't happening for us I might pick him up. I will say this though I got leader class Striker Optimus Prime and he was way better quality then my RotF leader class Optimus Prime but then again he was from the DotM line and not RotF but he is the same mold just had the abs added to him. He is awesome btw highly recommend picking him up if you can. Thanks guys for the info though much appreciated.

 

actually the difference between the two is hasbro has "superior" license plate and takara has just superior.

When Takara's quality is better, it's generally either superior paint aps, or sometimes toys hasbro just flat out doesn't produce. On that note Hasbro never did release a leader Prime with the sculpt revisions that both Jetwing and Striker share.

Unfortunately, for what ever reason the movie toys have been the line/lines with the fewest variations from hasbro product. Generally takara does change it up more and offer better more collector geared toys.

 

Are the prices for these things skyrocketing now, kind of like the Prime FE's did?

 

Well in this case Takara price and import Hasbro price have been pretty much the same.

If you're going to pull the trigger, I wouldn't wait. They aren't going to get any cheaper (unless some show up at the US discount retailers- which I suppose is possible- but only wait if you're ok with the possibility of not getting him)

I had been waiting, but I went ahead and bought my second one to customize today after the announcement.

 

I'm looking at buying a soundwave myself eBay is cheaper right now than bbts, which makes me nervous. I've had both good and bad experiences with shipping since I display mine misp/b.

I eBay ordered my DOTM deluxe Soundwave last month & got it in 9 days from Taiwan. $22

 

must just have been from botcon then. the pics showed it in quotes but now i cant find any other pics with it outside from it.

thank god cause im a soundwave completist.

plus look at all the sellers selling these on ebay, have all had almost 100 available. thats where they all went!

 

The Botcon one was also painted. (mine is too, but I had to do that)
