Guys, I have bought a single animated toy to date (takes an amazing amount of will-power) but I must admit that I like "Leader Class" Animated Megs! He screams of G1 Megs to me. Now my question is...can his fusion cannon be swapped on to his right arm as I noticed that the cannon is on his left arm while he is in his package.

It clips on either arm. A simple yet impressive figure.

You have to take the cannon off to transform him. It's really clever how it attaches, too. There's actually no visible attach point - it uses molded vents on the arms, which blend in extremely well with the actual design of the robot.

I think he is one of the best toys in the line. The line as a whole works really well, and he is a really nice rendition of the character.

And huge. Can't forget how imposing he looks. Even toys like my Voltron look puny next to him, and he's actually a bit bigger than Megatron.

You're really tempting me with your comment, dude! Maybe I will just buy those that have G1 counter-parts. For example, Optimus and Bumbleebee.

Well, start with Megatron. Whether you like Animated or not, he is worth it. He's just a dominating presence, and he naturally poses into classic 'Megatron' stances, like when he holds his fusion cannon out.

(As for the 'knock-kneed' issue, I suspect that's because he was intended to stand with his legs turned slightly outward, as is a more natural stance if you look at how people tend to stand. Do that, and he doesn't look knock-kneed anymore)

And as for the next one to get? See what speaks to you when you go into the store. Both the cybertron mode Deluxe and the Earth mode Voyager Optimus have their fierce proponents. Voyager Bulkhead is, apparently, love (I haven't gotten him myself). And lots of people love Lockdown.

If the Animated Aesthetic bugs you, start with Prowl. He is the most perfect bikeformer ever made.

Ok, the next one after Megs (if I get him) will be Optimus!!!

Can't forget about Voyager Grimlock. As for as updates of G1 characters in Animated goes, he's hard to top. Hell his transformation is G1, minus a few updates to it. And he looks awesome.

Ooh and Lugnut and Voyager Bulkhead are tiny love.

But yeah Optimus (if you get one that doesn't have any issues with loose pin joints -_-) is a great figure, and well worth picking up.

Oh yeah, the voyager Prime is a pretty sweet figure. Totally go for that. Or Grimlock.

I'll be the devil here and tempt you with pics:

And you know, beside Meg, OP & Grim... You should also consider picking Jazz & Soundwave up. Those two are also filled with G1 fanwank goodness. :lol

    Ah, cannot forget though.

To get that axe for Prime (which is the most show accurate of the 3 axes), you need to buy the 2-pack, and take it from the Prime in that. The 2-pack Prime is a solid enough figure (same general mold as the Cybertronian Prime), but the Megs in it sucks..

Edit: Oh yeah, Soundwave is great. Got him Saturday at SDCC. Some real nice homages to him, and having him rock out with Laserbeak guitar..teh secks.

Also, I've pretty much convinced one of my online friends (an admin over on Nintendo Hub) to get into collecting. Yay.

someone needs to re-cast the 2-pack prime axe and sell it separately

i don't want to the figures, so it'd be stupid to buy it just for the weapon

were i a man of lesser morals, i'd buy it, remove the axe, and sell it, but anyone that does that sucks
