Do you know where stickers 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 go? They aren't anywhere in the instruction booklet?

Also, what squadron stickers did you put on? All the pics on the box show Takara putting on the first one with the Decepticon symbol. I reeaally like the Krimzeek ones, though they aren't really relevant to Starscream as he was barely in that episode. The Waspinator ones are really cool, but they'd fit better on a cartoon accurate colored Screamer. Should I put them on now, or save them in case Hasbro releases him in anime colors and doesn't give us a sticker sheet?

I haven't replied because I have no idea which stickers those ones are. I'm too lazy to dig out my own sheet at the moment :p .

If any of those is the big "Starscream" nametag, which I don't think the instructions tell you where to put it, I assume it goes on his base. There's a raised part on the front of it (in relation to the rest of the base's surface, that big "hump" on it) that's the perfect size for that sticker.

I prefer it without the stickers. More realistic that way.

The Starscream sticker is shown to go on the base in the instructions. Pretty much all the stickers are. EXCEPT 5-9. They are just generic "No Step" "Warning" and "No Push" stickers. Very similar to the ones already printed all over him. Except there are only like 4 of each.

While I agree the Decepticon symbols take away from his realism, the rest acutally help it. Real jets have letters on the vertical fins, as well as the squadron symbols. Though they usually have things less transformer-like stuff on them.

Copypasta from my post in the thread in the feedback forum:

Stickers! So many choices! It still looks great with them off but I guess I'll go ahead and put them on.

Seven different squadron logos to pick from, I think I'll use the Decepticon logo ones. Very cute that there's a "Waspinator" logo. For the tail fins, the letters and small red stripe instead of the big G1-esque stripes. The real planes have those letters and the small stripes match the wings better, since the wing stripes are more subdued than on the G1 seekers.

Big Decepticon logos for the wings and nose? Kind of cuts away from the straight-up military plane disguise, but MP-01 has a big-ass faction logo visible in alt mode (plus some Alts like Sideswipe and Prowl), so I guess MP-03 can too. Go for the G1 look there since I'm not for the tailfins. But I'm going to put them on so they are rightside up in robot mode. Photos of the original 1984 G1 toy have them like that, I don't know why they got turned over for the cartoon and all subsequent representations of G1 Starscream.

I wonder what I should do with the small "warning", "no push", "rescue", and "caution" stickers, the manual doesn't mention them so I don't know where they should be located. Also, anybody know why the missiles would be labeled "Do not fly"? I assume they got that from the real things somehow but I can't figure how it would apply.

edit: It just occured to me to google on "f-15 decal". Just quickly I found this suggestion on a modeling forum:
"As far as color schemes you can look at http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/ or go to www.twobobs.net and look at their F-15 decals."

I dont own MP Starscream, but I have a question of my own relating to the squadron stickers. I know that they go on a certain part in the vehicle mode, but has anyone thought of putting them on the robot mode too? I mean, in the military, dont they usually have special squads with their own symbols that go on the arms of their jackets? Like Grandpa's Fighting Hellfish from the Simpsons, or FOXHOUND from Metal Gear? I think the idea of putting these stickers on Starscream's shoulders is a cool idea, but I want to know if anyone else thinks so too.

That's a great idea, Abrogate. Too bad thier are only 4 of each sticker. There are 4 places to put them on vehicle mode, so there aren't enough to add them to the robot mode.

Hey Ray, I used the G1 esque stickers on the fins AND applied the numbers. I like the G1 look as well as the military look. I also applied the symbols with the stars over top of the painted on symbols with the con logo inside. The cool thing is that from a distance, it looks like the standard logo. But up close, the con logo shows through. It's like a rub symbol that doesn't need to be rubbed. Very cool effect.

I only stuck the ones that were in the directions on.
Saving the rest for future figs, and maybe some Macross.
Planned on putting them on, but noticed he already had a ton already on him.

Have no idea what to do with that Kremzeek decal.

I'm scared to put the stickers on him.... the only ones I think I might put on are the big Decepticon logos, just for accuracy, but I fear them peeling or getting wrecked during transformation. He's looks fine without them, imho.

    Done some looking.

    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/facts/tailcodes.htm
The two large letters on the tail seem to usually be an abbreviation of the base the plane is stationed at.
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/facts/serials.htm
The smaller numbers and letters on the tail tend to be the plane's serial number but can also be the fighter wing (FW) or fighter squadron (FS) number the plane belongs to.
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/facts/units.htm
The shield shaped insignia are the wings, the round ones are the squadrons.
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/nosearts/nosearts.htm
The instructions show the sticker with all the missiles on it (I assume it's a record of all missiles fired by the aircraft or perhaps by the pilot) to be right across the part where the nose folds down. This is correct, so it will have to be cut in two. The painted application above it with the trijet silhouette and slogan is normally an eagle head and the pilots' names.
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/weapons/aim9/aim9.htm
If you bother to translate the katakana, it lets you know that the missiles you can put in place of the null rays are Sidewinders. I still don't know why they would have "Do not fly" on them.

Technically, the small tail stripes should be on both sides. I was briefly tempted to just use the blue stripes for the insides of the tails and the red ones for the outsides, but they really should match so I'll just not have inside stripes. Oh well. For those people who use the thick G1 tail stripes it doesn't matter anyway.

    http://www.hlj.com/product/tkt71889
Hobby Link Japan has some photos with some stickers on. Looks like they went with the thick tail stripes and the tail numbers, the hybrid realistic/G1-accurate option. They also did the wing faction logos the official way, which makes them upside down and dumb looking IMO.

I figured out that the DT 22 tail code sticker is the old Takara designation for G1 Starscream. Anybody know what the smaller AC-0059 below it is a reference to?

Also found some more good sites:

Meant to do this weeks ago, so sorry about bumping the old thread, but I finally got around to asking some other folks about the mystery stickers. Check it out:

    http://cs.finescale.com/forums/704309/ShowPost.aspx
    http://www.freeweb.hu/f15e/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?s=;act=ST;f=11;t=35

Oh wait, you can't read that second one without registering to that forum. Alright, I'll copy/paste the replies that are there so far:

I'm going to have to do more checking to figure out what some of the avionics jargon refers to, but it looks like helpful information.

Alright. I'm sorry I procrastinated so long on this, and I'm sorry for the resulting bump of an old thread. I still haven't actually put the stickers on mine but I think my research into it is as complete as it's going to get.

F-15 reference (i.e. closeup) photo galleries at:
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/
    http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/f15eereferencefr_1.htm

Some kind of maintenance guide for several jets including the F-15, really lucked out when google stumbled across this for me:
    http://0x4d.net/files/AF1/R11%20Segment%2011.pdf

So here's what the guys on the forums said in response to each mystery sticker, and whatever confirmation I could get:

    27 'do not fly'
"on a temp landing gear strut"
    "used on load trainers"
    I.e., just forget about these.

    5 'warning -------'
"looks like the pressure and dump valve that sprays hot fuel on shut down located
on pnl 113 L/R a.k.a the first unpainted engpanel"
    http://0x4d.net/files/AF1/R11%20Segment%2011.pdf
The maintenance file shows panel 113 and describes the manual shutdown process that causes the hot fuel spray. Couldn't find any good photos of the underbelly back there. Note that the bits that unfold to Screamer's feet shouldn't be there, it's flat on the real plane. The verdict? I dunno. If the real plane does have these down there then the closest is to put them on the feet where they'd be conspicuous in robot mode, not that that's necessarily a dealbreaker.

    6 'no push'
"on some little round panels on the aug afterbuner can"
"goes just forward of the linkages on the exhaust nozzles, at about 2, 4, 7, and 9 o'clock positions. The red "NO STEP" is at the 12 o'clock position."
    http://www.eaglekepr.com/flightline/EngineAugmentorInboardNOPUSH.jpg
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/avionics/antennas_tews/15.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhaust_nozzles/08.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhaust_nozzles/09.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhaust_nozzles/13.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhaust_nozzles/21.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhausts/01.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhausts/02.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhausts/05.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/miscellaneous/hook/01.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/miscellaneous/hook/02.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/miscellaneous/hook/04.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/miscellaneous/hook/05.htm
    http://www.ipmsslc.com/gallery2/v/Airshows/TinkerAFB2004/PICT0025.jpg.html
Definately confirmed. I guess techically there should be eight of these, but Takara only gave five so compomise on that however you want.

    7 'warning hot air exhaust'
"under the jet near the j.f.s. [Jet Fuel Starter] exhaust one on each side of it"
"rear of conformal fuel tanks (below horizontal stabilizers), rear fuselage (above rear CFT pylon), top of fuselage (right behind canopy)"
    http://0x4d.net/files/AF1/R11%20Segment%2011.pdf
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/engines/exhausts/04.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/fuselage/09.htm
The JFS exhaust location was revealed by the maintenance file, then I knew that I'd already seen it in those photos. I think this would actually be down between the legs somewhere, closest you could actually get would be to put it on the crotch. And that's even worse than the other ones on his feet, though kind of funny in its own way. Yes, I'm actually considering doing it.
As for the locations named by the other guy, I couldn't find photo confirmation. Though if you check the other photos the sites have there definately is some kind of exhaust under the tail boom next to the horizontal stabilizers, and I can see the bits on Screamer that are supposed to represent them. So I guess they could go there.

8 'rescue emergency entrance control on other side'
"on the foward fuselage above door 6 only one"
"right side of forward fuselage (below cockpit, above rear end of door 6R)"
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/avionics/avionics_panels/03.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/fuselage/06.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/cockpit/canopy/02.htm
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/cockpit/canopy/17.htm
    Yeah, it's there.

    9 'caution ----'
"looks like it should go on the next aft pnl from 113 and is the deec exhaust"
"inside of tail booms (aft of exhaust nozzles, below vertical stabilizers)"
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/fuselage/01.htm ?
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/fuselage/02.htm ?
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/fuselage/03.htm ?
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/cockpit/canopy/15.htm ?
    http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/reference/airframe/tail_surfaces/03.htm
    http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/f15eimages/f-15e-exhaust-detail-2.jpg
    http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/f15eimages/f-15e-fastpack-front.jpg ?
    http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/f15eimages/f-15e-front-fastpack-view.jpg ?
There's that panel 113 again, and again no good photos of down there.
There is a "caution" label behind the cockpit, even though one of the guys named the "warning/exhaust" label back there. Could still be a "warning/exhaust" that just doesn't show in the photos I've seen, there is indeed some kind of vent back there, you can see it on Screamer and where they have it covered in those photos.
You can clearly see where it is inside the tail booms in the photos I didn't mark as questionable, and the smaller text that explains the caution looks very much like the sticker's little squiggly lines, moreso than on the other instances of "Caution" in photos I found.
Another "Caution" towards the front of the conformal fuel tank (which Screamer does have installed).
Verdict: tail boom pair for sure, can't do both of the other two pairs of "cautions" with only three stickers. Maybe do the ones on the CFTs since it's already busy behind the cockpit with the factory applied labels.

And that's it. You can use the photo sets to confirm stuff like the labeling on the vertical stablizers and where the squadron logos are located. Have fun.
