Does your wife mind your transformers collection? I loved G1 Transformers as a kid and started collecting again in the last year or two. But, my wife hates when I buy transformers. Its a very sore subject in our house. Its difficult, because I love the universe classics and animated lines. Just curious if I'm the only one. I guess I need to grow up. :)

< Too scared to get married and find out

I heard demons dress up as women, and as soon as they get a man to marry them, they shed their skin and start breathing fire

My wife doesn't mind at all. In fact, she often buys me more TFs for special occasions like Xmas and my birthday.

My wife doesn't mind my little hobbies. She's camped out with me for video game system launches and several Jordan releases.

I've never had an issue with the subject. Everyone needs a hobby and this is mine. She accepts that this is what I like to do and respects it. There are millions of worse things to be doing.

    Who told you the secret?

Yeah I agree. I enjoy video games and transformers. But we have a one year old and our second child on the way, so I suppose there are more important things for us to save our money for. :)  Just hard to give up!

I didn't read the OP or anything, but I'm betting this ends in divorce.

Statistically speaking, you're at a 50% chance already, and if you factor in the whole part where you're requesting advice on this board, it seems like the odds are probably stacked against you at this point.

Mine learn to accept it, although I do get a raised eyebrow whenever my pile o' loot come in from BBTS or a big order from BBTS, but she knows that this is my hobby and as long as it doesn't take money away from the essential needs in life, good luck man, learn to balance your budget and make more selective choices in what you want to get.

Vic doesn't really mind, just so long as i don't go spending obscene amounts of money or anything. But, I don't really collect TFs anymore. A few stray Gundam MGs, and DVDs is really all I buy.

She actually seems a little upset that I don't enjoy my hobby as much as I used to. She's afraid that it's her fault or something, I dunno.

We set a budget, which includes my comics and TFs. She also thinks some of them are cute. Plus, it's a way for daddy and his daughter to bond, as my 4 1/2 year old loves TFA. I've started to give her some figures of her own, like some KO Constructicons I bought just for the Devastator parts once upon a time, and a $2 junker Optimal Optimus that's missing some parts.
Additionally, my wife genuinely liked the movie, and admits that some of them are 'cute.' She's actually looking forward to Wreck Gar.

Edit: For further info, we just celebrated our 5th anniversary this past week, and I've bought the majority of my TFs since we've been married.

Mine doesn't mind. She isn't really very happy when I make large purchases, but she's cool with it. It's also something my kids and I do together. It sounds to me like there may be deeper issues. Does your collecting effect your bills? Does she have a hobby? There's something else there.

My wife understands it, even usually buys what I ask for on Christmas & BD
(I'm getting premium leader Prime this year :thumbs2: ) but as others have posted TFs can't run your life or take up all your free cash.
