I'm referring to the 1985/6 MOVIE adaptation 4 part comic IDW. Is it the same of the movie? or did they add alot of extras from storyboard not included in the movie. For example, SNARL, Tracks, inferno.. thanks
If you're talking the IDW version, Wikipedia has this to say: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers:_The_Movie#Comic_book_adaptations I don't think the Marvel comics version from 1986 varied all that much, but:
I am a big fan of IDW's stuff, but I really think they dropped the ball on the movie adaptation. The "extra stuff" we were promised was completely absent until the TPB and some of the best scenes were shockingly cut. The dialog between Megatron and Unicron prior to the reformatting is abbreviated. However, the lines and the coloring are top rate. I would get the TPB if you don't have any of the issues. But, I do think it is a blight on IDW's otherwise stellar track record.
If I'm not mistaken TPB stands for "Trade Paper Back" in comic terms it generally means a compliation of a comic series. Though a TPB usually contains extras such as covers and art gallery, its not a standard rule to have the extras.
I think it does have two extra pages, but I can't verify my sources beyond vaguely remembering I heard that. Still, all the IDW TPB that I have seen have included something extra like design sketches or cover galleries. I would be surprised if the movie adaptation trade did not include something.
I have the TPB and it has an art gallery of the various comic covers...i have no idea if there were additional scenes as compared to the comics.
