Okay, quick and random question for anyone who owns Binaltech Red Alert -

He's a two-tone cop car, so I'm curious: In the vehicle mode, IN WHAT COLOR WAS HE MOLDED?

I.e., was he molded in white and they painted on the black, or vice versa? I'm not concerned with the robot parts, just the vehicle parts.

If anyone's curious, this is for a kitbash. I'm turning Alt. Ricochet/Stepper into my own Alt. Prowl, because I'm f***ing poor.

What is the point of asking what color BT Alert was molded in if you are taking an Alt Ricochet into Prowl?

I'm pretty sure it's molded in white. But I have the same question as Wreckgar.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that he was molded in DIECAST. ;)

Ugh, because I'm curious about how Takara handled the paint scheme. Painting black onto white plastic is easier than the opposite, so I'd like to get an idea of the convenience factor - do I spend weeks on end layering white onto Ricochet or just break down and buy Alert?

If the car parts were molded in white, then painting any plastic parts of the car - fenders, folding bumpers, etc. - black would be a lot easier.

If it was molded in black - like Ricochet - and they painted the white onto the car, then Takara had - and I have - a long way to go. :thumbs2:

Now, does anyone actually have an answer to the question?

Parts that aren't diecast like the rear bumber are molded in white with black painted over it.

Now no reason to be snippy. He's molded in white

However paint a black car white is not that difficult, it just required a few layered on coats.
