hey everyone, i was just wondering if anybody knew how the stickers were being handled on this figure. i know on the original release they said Martini Porsche along the top of the windshield among other places on him. However, on the recent Japanese rerelease of him, they all said Autobot Meister. I was hoping someone could shed light on whether this will be accurate with the Porsche stickers, or if they are all going to say Meister, as this will affect my purchase decision on the figure.

I don't think we've seen pics of the actual encore toy and his specific stickers yet.

hmm...actually, this brings me to another question...do the encore figures come with the stickers factory applied or do they come on a sticker sheet? because i can always just buy the reprolabels stickers if the meister ones come with it.

They mainly come on sticker sheets. I think they'll use the Meister stickers but we won't know until someone gets one.

It seems unlikely that TakaraTomy is going to secure a licensing deal, so expect the Meister stickers.

The real question is whether the figure will be loose like TFC Jazz or tight in the fashion of Hasbro Jazz.

Yeah, I wonder that myself...the TFC "loose" Jazz was molded to accept the chrome and gold plated versions, where the Hasbro one was "tight" just like the original.

I asked Curt from TFSource about this, and it seems nobody knows yet.

The original Diaclone and Transformers toys sported "Martinii" (doors) and "Martinii Porsche" (windscreen, spoiler) decals.

Note that's two "ii"s in a row. Like Wheeljack was "Alitalla" (instead of "Alitalia"), Mirage was "Citanes" (instead of "Girtanes") and the Diaclone variant of Wheeljack was "Marlboor".

The Cookie Crisp mail order version was lacking any "Martinii" decals.

Takara's Transformers Collection and Hasbro's Commemorative Series reissues sported "Meister" (doors) and "Agent Meister" (windscreen, spoiler) decals.

I'm more concerned about if they'll finally use the fixed head that was present in the stepper reissue, or if we'll have to endure the drunk-looking jazz again. also wondering what stickers will be replaced with paint applications. I'm hoping his doors, those stickers always peel at the top and bottom. and turn brown. I've had five Jazzes, and they've all fell victim to that.

anything else can be fixed with reprolabels.

Hmm... I thought I read that the Commemorative release has a repaired face mold... I don't have mine handy tho, so I can't check... I would hope for the Encore release they finally restore it to the original face tho... I'd buy one for that.

If you're talking about the Hasbro Commemorative release, it's the goofy face.

The Takara figure cannot hold a weapon in its arms outstretched.

The Hasbro figure has the same tightness as any other Commemorative Series reissue.

The Jazz face started to go wonky with the G2 version.

The Takara Transformers Collection and Hasbro Commemorative Series reissues were worse.

Then Takara fixed the face for their Transformers Collection Stepper reissue. Hasbro used the same sculpt for their Commemorative Series Ricochet version, which came out at the same time as Stepper.

Hasbro would be STUPID for using the crappy face.

I also wouldn't mind them factory-applying the stickers that go around the back fenders. I always put those on wrong. Either that, or I don't put them both on the same way, making them look off when looking at the toy head on.

The Ironhide and Ratchet Encores came with tampos and no sticker sheet if that means anything.
