So the big plan was to bring Cybertron to Earth so the Humans can repair it as slaves, right? Then why are Protoforms vaporizing humans in Chicago? They could've helped.

I don't think a few dead humans is gonna hurt the cause when there's billions on the entire planet.

Chicago is to the Earth as the Earth is to the Galaxy as the Galaxy is to the Universe.

    Insignificant.

My question is, what's the environment like on Cybertron? To quote Guy Fleegman: "IS THERE AIR!? YOU DON'T KNOW!!"

This was brought up before, and it's very plausible Cybertron has an atmosphere that can support human life as combustion and winds are seen on Cybertron.

    This.

Also, the amount of deaths in Chicago is like a drop of water in an ocean. Chicago was used as an example to those who'd want to fight against the Cybertronians too, wasn't it?

Why do we care about Chicago being blown up by Decepticons again...?

Do we even need to go to Cybertron? Once Cybertron has been transported near Earth can they not close that space bridge to open a new one to transport the resources. Remember Sentinel says they will leave once they have our resources. Just because Dylan says we have can provide labor doesn't mean they need it. Dylan will be kept out of the loop on some things. For all we know Soundwave can produce energon cubes and they can be transported via Starscream or the spacebridge. It really is open to interpertation.

You kill the humans in Chicago to prove a point and secure the city. Also, hundred thousand dying or so will not impact your overall numbers that much come slave labor time. It was to set a tone and prove a point, that's all.

Here's some numbers just for fun. In 2010 the population of Chicago was 2,695,598, source, US Census. According to About.com, the world population in mid 2010 was 6,852,472,823. Even if EVERY person in Chicago was killed in the Decepticon attack, it would still leave 6,849,777,225 slaves to rebuild Cybertron!

    Drop in the bucket indeed!

True again. Actually the Decepticons should have vaporized the police and military instead of fleeing civilians TT

Stop reading so much into it, and analysing it like it's a real situation! It. Is. Just. A. Film. No more, no less
