    Yes.
Star Saber had 2 different types of packaging; the one you're puzzled about is the first. It tends to go for more money, from what I have seen. Both are legit.

yeah, so basically you have 3.

1- the 1st one, horizontal box, the rarer.
    2- the common vertical box.
3- and the one in the giftset.

thanks for clearing that up guys.

Even though its rarer, it can't be worth that much. That price is crazy. Just wanted to gauge the value. thanks.

Well. I picked up a MIB (damn near C10) Vertical package Star Saber at Botcon 2004 for $275. At the same convention someone sold a Horizontal packaging one for over twice that. However it's not worth anywhere near what that seller thinks it is, AFA graded or not. AFA = license to print money.

I once saw a mint Star Saber (not in box, though) on ebay for going a little less than 100 bucks. I would've bid but the seller never answered my shipping query.:mad

    Ebay:
Holy crap, I got a MIB Star Saber (vertical box) a few years ago for about $120. $400 seems a bit, er, steep. And my box was in much better condition than that one in the auction too.

a few years ago is alot different from the market today, especially for japanese tfs. 2 years ago i saw an unused mib metrotitan in c9 box go for no more than 300 shipped. You'd be looking to pay 2x-3x times that now.

Hmmm I thought the horizontal version was the Taiwan release?

I'm pretty sure that the horizontal one was the original first run Japanese one.
