This might be a weird question.

But in the episode there was a scene where Sari finds the remote control and takes it, and then the door opens up and the 'bad guy' comes in. There's a sound effect right when that happens that sounds SO familiar. Is it from Star Trek or Star Wars?

It sounds like a gun targeting or powering up, then firing noise. But I guess it was the door opening.

The episode Velocity had a couple of Star Wars sound effects at least. I know they used one of the laser rifle thingy sounds as well.

Still didn't have as many Star Wars sound effects that a lot of the G1 episodes had.

haha! yes someone else recognizes it! It's the Zat gun from Stargate SG-1! It's the exact same sound effect.

All time classic Star Wars effect in Transformers is the G1 gun sound that had a bit of C3PO still in it, screaming "NO!"

Six Shot's ground vehicle uses it here:

I think there's another instance in The Rebirth where someone is shooting rapid fire and they used that, so you hear NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! haha

I was so going to bring this up .... it was the sound effect of a ZAT gun from Stargate.

Wonder if they got permission ... or even if they needed to.

Glad I was not the only one :)

Watch this video in its entirety ... you will hear the sounds. (I know, it is not the best reference)

IIRC the Zat gun sound is a flanged battery/flash recharge from a camera.

I've noticed in a lot of SW sound effects in recent Cartoon Network Sci-Fiish shows use a lot of sound effects mixed from the clone wars series. Ben 10 used a LOT of Star Wars sound effects mixed together.
