I have a feeling and i know its early but i was thinking we wont get a toy for every character that appears in transformers prime for different reasons i was wandering if in past toylines all the characters that appeared in the show got a figure . I think beast wars did just wandering what are the standout chracters that never got a figure

The only BW characters that didn't get toys were Ravage (who appeared in the season 2 finale) and Transmutute (who appeared in a single filler episode). Ravage later got a Japanese only (I think) figure a few years after BW ended, and Transmutate got a figure in 2006.

Animated is the best example of characters that showed up and never got a toy.

No Strika, Spittor, Wheeljack, Omega, ect.

Thundercracker and Blackout were to come to the US, but they ended up as Japan only.

Not exactly sure what you're asking, which toylines had show characters that never made it into toys?

Beast Machines never came out with a toy for Botanica.

RID 2000 never put out a Maximus figure. The japanese toyline did.

Takara's superlink never got the [in show] repaints of Landmine and Cliffjumper.

Animated, with their combined market releases, never got releases of Voyager Thundercracker, Ramjet and any Constructicons. Nor Rodimus' team.

DOTM did not get any version [deluxe and upwards] of Dino.

    It's always been this way.

(By the way, there was an animated ramjet, he was just stupidly rare)

Its of note there were never any plans to make a Bontanica figure which maybe for the best as even today i am not sure they could make a plant former work.

I never bought a single Beast Machines character, but I honestly think Botanica's character was bold enough and cool that I would have snagged one if it was on the shelf.

Yeah, this is totally an issue with only the most current TF lines.

This G1 Devcon toy is awesome, by the way.

Becuase Animated showed the TF's on Earth, Cybertron, and beyond. It's understnadable that we didn't get all of them.

But the movieverse..... Only Earth and we still couldn't get all of them.

Well, the biggest hole in the history of collecting TF toy lines may have been Unicron, right?
MAJOR character in a theatrical film that practically served as an advertisement for a toy that never made it to production.

Then there's G1 Arcee, of course, as well as pretty big characters Alpha Trion and Elita-1 and plenty of random non-factioned designs like Quintessons and the other style of Sharkticons.

But, G1 was a strange and different beast, and I think lines starting with Beast Wars have done a great job bringing the shows and toys closer together. Some things remain similar in that characters that may be strange or prohibitive to sales as toys may not make the cut.

As far as characters that didn't make it out, I suppose we could toss some more DOTM stuff into the "kind of" category with the Wreckers not sharing a size class and some stuff not reaching many markets. Beast Wars Neo Unicron counts too, I guess.

I'd say that most featured characters that aren't either oddball organics, giants, goofy alt modes or non-major females are at least planned for release assuming the line doesn't get cut short.

Yeah like I don't think we are gonna get a toy for transformers prime makeshift that
Ight be because we technically only saw like a shadowy picture of him but I'm really into the line and like to recreate certain scenes so it would be nice if every character got a figure one way or another

And also too as a kid watching beast wars of I saw something that was cool in the show I would be that much more interested in getting whoever it was as a toy so I could recreate that at home

Usually if a character appeared prominently in the show they did get a toy, as the toys were desigend first with the fiction being produced afterwards. This is especially true of the Unicron Trilogy.

Basically, when it comes to characters who were in more than one episode, Animated was probably the worst offender I can think of, offhand.
