So all the autobots and decepticons arrived on earth in protoform and found their outfits. But Megatron crashed on earth millions of years earlier, yet when he thaws out, he is not a protoform, he is an alien jet. Where did he get this form from if 1) they usually get their forms once on a planet and 2) it could not be his Cybertron form as Megatron would no be flying anyone inside him or be a vehicle to transport anyone(he's Megatron for crying outloud!). Also, if he got this form from another alien race, would this race make an appearance in the sequel?

yeah, de de de!!! like you said he is megatron! he's got a god complex, he's not gonna change his form...he's got serious problems but he thinks he's perfect so even if he did visit a alien planet...he'd burn it to the ground trying to find the allspark!!!and all the bots got transportation modes...just diffrent ...there "rocket" devices... atleast thats what we saw...mabye they just planned to enter a atmospheric planet, megs just kinda took off in a blind rage after he riped and smashed bumblebee on cybertron...the bots planned and took precautions...megs is just, well ,INSANE!!!!

Megatron wasn't worried about fitting in.

    nonconformist.

Besides, according to Prime, Megs wanted to use the Allspark to make very machine on Earth into a TF and make it a new Cybertron. So taking an Earth form would be a waste of his time anyway.

Megatron wasn't planning on disguising himself, he probably didn't plan on being here for more than a day...after he blew earth up.

Peeps need to read the prequel comics and novel.
It's all explained fairly well there.

IIRC in the movie itself, it says that Megatron's navigational equipment was disrupted by Earth's magnetic field and that's why he crashed.

He probably didn't account for our atmosphere, either. Whereas the Autobots and apparently the other Decepticons took the precaution of using Protoforms to enter our atmosphere without significant damage.

Also, I thought he was only frozen for a thousand years after the crash.

While MEGATRON had a space-faring capacity to start with, I guess the Autobots didn't.

What's worse is that when he's frozen, he seems to be pure skeleton (protoform) I didn't see any jet mode kibble on him.

I'm fine with the cybertronian alt mode, but miffed that he seems to be in protoform state when frozen.

No no no, the frozen Megatron is the exact same one as the one who goes around blowing stuff up.

Lost track of Transformers in 1986

I'm game. What are the titles and authors of these publications? Would they have it
at something like Barnes & Noble or would I have to go to a specialized comic book
    store?

Yeah. The prequels are almost required reading. They really set the stage for the movie.

Also, the Prequels had a VERY low print and are pretty hard to come buy unless you go the EBay route. I friggin subscribed to the prequels at my local comic shop and could still only get my grubby hands on issues 1/4 and 4/4 :(

Just to clarify...when Prime called Megs "brother" at the end of the movie, did he mean that in the literal or figurative sense? I'm kinda leaning toward the former because the prequel IDW issues dont give a nice hint of familial relations between the two...

Haven't read the prequels yet, so I kind of forgot about that aspect. When Prime said brother, for a second I though he was doing a Hulk Hogan impression! :)

"You'd better gimme the Allspark brother! Or else you'll experience full on Prime-amania!" I couldn't help it.

How are people misunderstanding this? Isn't it obvious that thing looks absolutely nothing like any jet made on Earth?

It was even listed as a goof at IMDB.
