If this ruins something for you, don't blame me,
In the book, when Sentinel shoots Ironhide in the head with the "comics rust" gun, is that supposed to a reference to his death in the 1986 G1 movie, since that Ironhide died being shot in the head too?

If it were Megatron doing it, I'd kinda see it, but since it's not it's purely coincidence.

I just thought of it as an effective way of killing someone, but it might be.

I wouldn't have seen it that way at all had you not brought it up.

Only if Sentinel Prime says "Such heroic nonsense" afterwards, but that would be rather out of character.

It'd be pretty neat if that line was worked in somewhere towards the end after Sentinel's true intentions are revealed.

God, 3 posts and you blurt it out. It's not worth making spoiler discussions because someone will always come and say just enough to screw everything up...

    Not really, considering that
Sentinel publicly kills Ironhide and the Twins.

Yes, but he still never considered himself evil or anything,
he was just trying to save Cybertron, by any means necessary.

Are you serious? This thread REVOLVES around a major spoiler, and hello? It says *MAJOR SPOILERS* in the title. If you don't want to be spoiled, stay away from threads like these.

And besides, what did I say? That it's
an effective means of killing someone? It hints at a death, nothing more.
    Holy shit this is rediculous.

Pay attention some. The thread's topic has Ironhide's name in it, and then someone posts about how effective the death was. Anyone with half a brain could see that Ironhide dies with that bit of information.

Besides, marked or not, spoilers shoud really be left in spoiler tags. That's what they're there for.

Unless you click on the thread, the one marked "Major Spoilers", you wouldn't see my post. Besides, what would make them think that I'm
referring to Ironhide? I could just as easily be referring to someone killed by Ironhide, or a weapon.

"Anyone with half a brain" as you put it, who doesn't want to be spoiled would stay out of a thread marked major spoilers. There is nothing wrong with my post.

In that case, Megatron, at least in the movieverse, never thought of himself as evil either.

He probably doesn't, seeing how he's completely nuts.

... yeah? Pretty sure it's been established that Megatron always thought what he was doing was for a just cause, even if it was just his twisted mind making him think that.

    Let me clarify:

I already knew what the spoiler was (I was unlucky enough to see the Amazon scans about a month back.) so it's not bothering me. I mean for other members.

Putting the SPOILER label on the thread unfortunately isn't usually enough to detract wandering, non-spoiled eyes. People will still click on it out of curiousity and will sooner or later happen upon a non-censored spoiler and screw themselves over. They aren't stupid either. With Ironhide mentioned in the title and the mention of
    an effective death
will be enough for people to put two and two together.

Sorry that I came off as dickish in my previous post (I just came from that Sentinel Prime thread when I posted it). Just try to be a bit more cautious.

How is he nuts? A bit angry, yeah, but I would say he's nuts.

Still doesn't mean he saw himself as evil. Others did. Prime even says so in the opening of the first movie. To use a real word example, I don't think Hitler ever saw himself as evil, even though, though the eyes of history, he's one of the most evil people to ever have lived.
