I recently got a G1 Hardhead but found that the chest door that shows the specs is tightly shut. Anyone else have this problem with their Headmaster figures? Can I use some WD-40 to fix it?

    Ebay:
I would spray some WD 40 on it. I used it on some of my G1 figures and that fixed the problem.

I've heard of this problem many times before. From everything I've seen, it's a universal problem and will break if you force it. Best to leave it alone if it doesn't budge.

Agreed. The plastic can harden and get tight over time because of weather and/or humidity from being in storage or just natural exposure to the environment. Unless the WD-40 works, I too would leave it be.

^^^^ Yeah I totally agree. I broke a hinge on my Hardhead when I was a kid...those things can get really tight.

That's so funny because the one I had as a kid never tightened up on me like that. Then again I don't even remember where my old Hardhead is but I know for the years that I had it since 1987 and on for almost 10 years, I didn't see that. Guess you learn something new everyday. The other option was if I could somehow get the pin out and clean it up and reinsert it, that would work. But again, it seems pretty much stuck in there so its WD-40 or bust at this point. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for the advice.
