. Ok what is he. Is he a robot, just a dude with a metal head? whats his deal?
Wiki is your friend
I always thought the Destro mask was supposed to reference the Man in the Iron Mask from the 3 Musketeers lore.
I actually thought that he wore it the same reason Dr. Doom wore his, because of nasty scars, and cobra commander too. I thought masks was just in.
It was passed down from father to son in the Destro clan.
according to fanfiction destro does baroness wearing it. she likes it like that, ooh yeah.
His real head is like whatever's in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Baroness tried doing Destro without the helmet one time, but she kept getting distracted by his radiance.
"Och, what are ye doin'? Doon't stop!"
actually, destro DOES have a gold version of the helmet when he commands the grenadier.
old school ARAH knowledge, bitches.
Embarrassing secret...it is just gold spray paint...
In the old marvel UK comics, that was exactly why Destro wore the mask.
wouldnt be the only time UK/US continuity messes up, mate.
at least its not as bad as 'omg what do we do with TWO megatrons?'.
When I was a kid, I used to think Destro (of the original GI Joe toon)was black. I know he was Scottish, but he had the same voice (without the accent) as Ice Berg.
I thought I was the only person on the planet who thought Destro was also black. I remember when I first saw that he was white, I was dissapointed and thought it was just a cop-out on the behalf of the writers. I still don't know why I always thought Destro was black... Maybe it was his accent or features. Eh...
yeah, I always thought the beige color on the figure was some undershirt. I never thought it was actually his skin color, and he was one of those exposing some skin as part of his daily uniform.
Don't have a problem with black Destro, but that shirt was clearly vintage Disco-era lounge wear. Open shirt, shiny gold chain...
I don't believe that we've ever seen Destro or CC sans mask in classic continuity. SE was clearly a burn victim, but I don't think we saw that face either (we saw it later, after plastic surgery and another accident, not the supposedly horrific visage from the beginning).
For a period of time in the comic (ish's in the 40's or 50's) CC was running around in civilian clothes with dark glasses and a fake (?) 'stash. What we saw looked perfectly normal, so I assume the mask was to protect the identity of an international terrorist.
Destro was definately a Man in the Iron Mask homage, and I'm fairly certain he wasn't supposed to be disfigured in any way.
No, I no I saw his (SE) face right before the surgery. Let me see if I can find the comic, I think it's in the drawer next to my toilet.
DESTRO is a former mod here.
