    Ebay:
I recently bought a Classics Devastator off of ebay. I got it in the mail and didn't notice that, although the molds are identical, there is some color variations in mine. Two of them are a dark dull green rather than neon green. They are the arms. One of the legs is black and blue and the other is black and purple. The main robot is the only neon green one. What is with the differnt colors? I don't think they are knock offs, but I don't really know enough about this figure to know for sure. Please help and the link to a pic is below.

Those Energon molds have been through a few paint schemes so there's multiple.

Not a bootleg, don't worry. It's just a bit mix and match. The bright green one is Steamhammer, I think: http://www.tfu.info/2005/Decepticon/Steamhammer/steamhammer.htm
    As opposed to Scavenger: http://www.tfu.info/2007/Decepticon/ClassicsScavenger/scavenger.htm

And the blue right leg is Dust Storm: http://www.tfu.info/2005/Decepticon/Duststorm/duststorm.htm
As opposed to Hightower: http://www.tfu.info/2007/Decepticon/ClassicsHightower/hightower.htm , who is on the right. The legs are the same mold.

I just noticed: The left arm and right arm is Sledge: http://www.tfu.info/2005/Decepticon/Sledge/sledge.htm
    As opposed to Bonecrusher: http://www.tfu.info/2007/Decepticon/ClassicsBonecrusher/bonecrusher.htm

There's two of the same one on there. 2 identical arms and 2 of the same mold on the legs, which is actually how it should be, 2 of each mold and the body.

But these Energon combiners were mix and match. Sometimes I mix and match the color schemes on them for fun.

Yours is mostly the Energon version, not the classics version as they said in the auction. only two of the five parts are from the classics version.

But he still got a complete Devastator, if he gets one different mold for one of the arms it's no big deal. It wasn't a bad price.

Right, it wasn't a bad price, but the auction didn't specify that. It said Classics Devy and it isn't. He was expecting classics Devy and got something else.

Only ONE of the 5 is the Classics version; the black one. See Mospeada's post above.

You're right, it should have said Energon Devastator. I don't think the original seller actually knew.

Between RiD, Universe, Classics and Energon Devastators, they make for a confusing search. I can't even find the Target exclusive Devastator that was made from Landfill's mold on Ebay for a price check. All I find is boxed Energon mold Classics Devastators.

    Ebay:
on principle, the seller pulled the Bait and Switch.

if i tell you i am selling you a G1 Starscream and i send you the TRU re-issue, i think for the price and for the hassle, you might be miffed.

    Oh, damn. That's even worse.

Not really. He got a hybrid. It's not a complete devastator, because no devastator was released like that. that's like saying a G2 Sideswipe with one G1 Sideswipe leg is a complete G1 Sideswipe.

Well, mold wise it's a complete Devastator. I'm just trying to make the guy feel better about his Devy, man!

You got the torso and the black and purple legs from Classics Devastator, and the rest from previous release of the mold. The Classics version used clear purple part for the limbs, opposite the clear blue of the other versions.

While the seller didn't said so in the title or description (a quite weak one at that), the pic at least was clear about what you were buying.

No, the torso isn't classics, look again. I didn't catch it at first either.

    Ebay:
They are all the same because they all have the glass looking decepticon symbol. At this point I believe it is the Energon version. I got Superion with him and it was the Energon version.

Make no mistake, I can't complain here. I got both Superion and Devastator for $64 total plus shipping. I could easily sell these back on ebay for more than what I paid for them, but I can't get the calssics versions for the prices I paid. They are the same except the color difference so I can live with that. Again, you can't even get Classics devastator for $80 shipped let alone both combiners for $64. In other words, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Only one of the legs (the one without a powerlink symbol) is from classics devastator. Nothing else.

No, they kept that in the repaints, but yeah, only that one leg is from the classics version.

    Ebay:

The weak title is why I got him for $44 and Superion for $20. That is how you find stuff that is normally expense cheaply on ebay. Got a Classics Mirgae once for $5 because it was misspelled.

Maybe a mix of the two then, the legs are mainly green like the Classics one, but on a second look the chest is the purple one from Energon(?).
