I just opened a TM Megs that I got and he is suffering from BPS pretty bad.

Is this pretty much a 100% thing on all TM Megs or is it a hit and miss venture?

I've had my TM Megatron since it was released, never had any problems with him.

TM Megs is NOTORIOUS for brittle brown plastic.

Basically anything that's dark brown plastic on him will be very brittle and break right out of the box.

You can't get through a single transformation without it crumbling apart in your hands.

The waist especially breaks 90% of the time. I've gone through 4 before saying **** it.

HOWEVER, the TAKARA release of TM Megs does NOT suffer from this problem at all. To have a non-breaking TM Megs you have to buy the Takara one.

Netkid, that would be the Takara "Metals" version, right?

I think I've only ever seen that one in a 'two pack' and it tends to be pretty expensive...

Thanks for the tip. VERY much appreciate it.

Never had any problems with either Megs or Torca. I have heard problems with Megatron but as was stated before, the Japanese Metals version does not suffer this defect. A really bad one is Japanese Razorbeast. He is all gold plastic and all I can say is don't look at him wrong or he'll fall apart. He is that bad.

One of my TM Megs doesn't have a broken waist, but he has a busted arm, so it's really hit or miss. Either way, something will break.

As for Torca, he is also hit or miss, some people have had him break apart, some not. But, with most of those people, Torca's tail part usually broke on them.

Another Beast Wars figure that has Gold-Plastic Syndrome is Grimlock. http://www.tfu.info/1997/Maximal/Grimlock/grimlock.htm Kiss your legs goodbye.

Never had a problem with Torca either. Seems like I got lucky on both counts.

You'll be fine with the Japanese Metals version of TM Megs. He's not rare or expensive, to my knowledge.

Huh. There are a couple on ebay, but only seem to come in a two pack and are definitely NOT cheap...

Takara 2-Packs are always crazy expensive.

Don't worry, Takara TM Megs comes singled packed as well.
