Okay so I've just been to the one Con and that was in 04, the last one the Hartmans ran, but I was curious about some things, for one since last year there were exclusive toys to what Primus package holders like the Waspinator/Megs two pack, was there a limit to how many one person could buy or how did that work? And also the exclusive figure, I assume you get that when you pick up your registration forms/badge or whatnot?

You can only buy one of each two pack, and they come bagged not in boxes.

When you pick up your prereg package is when you will get your exclusive Primus package figure (last year's Tigatron)

Now, can anyone attending the convention buy one, or do you have to be a Primus Package holder?

Yeah I knew the two pack were in baggies not boxes, do you have to wait until friday to purchase those and what area would one go to to do so, as in does Master Collector have a table or booth with those available?

They have a booth where you can purchase the extra exclusives. Theoretically they're available to anyone at the con, even the $9 general admission people, but because they're offered to Primus package, Protoform package, and dealers first, I believe both in 2005 and 2006 they sold out before or very close to the time general admission people got in on Saturday. They did in 2006 for sure. Primus packages get first crack, so if you want them I would strongly suggest you make sure you have one.

IIRC Primus Package holders get first shot at the convention exclusives, then if after a certain amount of time (like by Saturday afternoon or something) if there are any left then anyone can purchase. Keep in mind last year each two pack was limited to 500 pieces, so they will go quick and people who do not get a Primus Package may not have the opportunity.

Keep in mind this information is going by how things worked last year:
For those not in the customizing class and the weds/thurs tour, the exclusive pickup will be on Thursday night. Prereg pickup is divded into two time frames, each group will know which time frame they are to pickup by the color coding on their prereg letters they receive in the mail. Everyone lines up and as you get closer to the front you will see several tables set up where you can line up according to last name, there you will check in, receive your preregistration materials and be sent off. AFTER you check in and get your items you are then permitted to visit the club store to purchase extra items, you cannot go to the store until you have checked in (you need your convention nametag lanyard to visit the store for the extra figures, this tag shows which package you belong to).

At the store you can buy the extra convention exclusives, t-shirts, hats, and other Transformers related items (alternators, cyberton figs, etc). When you buy the extra exclusives your badge is marked so they know, this prevents people from trying to buy more than one so everyone gets a chance.

As I said before, those NOT going on the weds/thurs tours or in the classes can do this as I stated above. If you are in a tour/class however you will be permitted to check in on Weds night, and this will get you all of your convention prereg materials early. Even though you have checked in you will need to wait until "OFFICIAL" check in on Thursday night to buy the extra exclusives, but you can go straight to the store line instead of having to wait in the long check in line.

I know that was quick verbose, but hopefully it answered both of your questions. If not, keep asking, and I will keep giving out the info as I recalled it from last year.

Sounds good Deefuzz, one other quick question(until I think of another one I'm sure), when you were in line on thursday waiting to register, around how long were you waiting?

I know that for me the wait was under 15 minutes or so. Granted I got there late into the time slot, but the way they had their system set up, I don't think it'd be terrible unless there is a surge...

In 2005 I just walked right up to the table with no wait at all, but I went later in my registration period. I'm sure the line is longer if you insist on being there right at the beginning of the time slot.

In 2006 I was registered as a dealer so I can't really comment one way or the other there, but I assume it was the same.

I would suggest you just be patient and wait a half hour or so before you head down to jump in line. You're not going to miss out on any of the exclusives that early in the convention.

I have a question I signed up for a Transformers Club membership with my registration. Do I need to sign up on the website to get the magazine or exclusive toys? If so do I have to wait for them to charge my Card to gain access or am I a member once I got my confirmation call? One last question what is in the club magazine?

I'm not sure about the club member registration with the pre-reg stuffs.

However in the club magazine there is generally an interview, one or two toy reviews, and then a bit of comic. And they come in every other Master Collerctor newsletter.

My last name is De Jong (or de Jong without the capital D when it's together with my first name). Here that means I go under J. Shall I assume FP don't know that and put me under D?

New question, what exactly does one do at the awards dinner and is the dinner provided or do you have to pay for that as well?

Here is some info about/from last year's Awards Dinner/Casino night, I assume this year would be similar but I do not think there was mention of a Casino night. The short of it is this: Dinner cost is included in the Primus package fee but your drinks from the bar are not, there is a cash bar. Basically you will eat dinner, have drinks (if like last year there will also be casino gaming for prizes) and then there will be awards given out for Art contest winners and message board awards. But here is the reprinted info from last years event:

Awards Party Casino Night and Dinner
    - Each Primus package holder will receive $200 in gaming coupons. Instead of an auction at the end of the evening, we will be offering prizes to those who are actively playing during the evening. Dealers who make donations will also receive gaming coupons. The evening will also consist of special entertainment from our voice actor guests as well as the presentation of the BotCon Spark Achievement Awards and Contest winners.

"How does the Casino Night work?"
There is not an auction this year because of local gaming laws. You can win a prize by participating in the games or through the tickets you will be given at the door. Make sure you wear your badge as you will not be allowed to enter without it! Each Primus attendee will have $200 worth of gaming coupons in your package. Bring your gaming coupons (green sheets in your folder) to the Patterson Ballroom as there will not be any replacements available. During the evening, a representative will be going from table to table offering a prize ticket to patrons. The representative will decide what has to happen in the next round for a person to win. Once you have won a ticket, you have approximately 30 minutes to redeem it at the prize booth. Additional prizes will be added throughout the evening. Upon arrival, you will receive a numbered ticket. We will also draw from these tickets for prizes. Winning numbers will be posted every 30 minutes and the numbers are only valid for a shot time so check the board often. Bingo is also available. Bingo winners get to pick their prize from the prize table as well. The Awards Ceremony will occur at the end of the evening but you are free to come and go all night.

"What should I wear to the Awards Party Casino Night Dinner on Saturday night?"
Dress is smart casual. This means shirts with collars and no shorts.
(note: Please read this one, there were several people who ignored it, and it just pissed off those who actually DID follow this rule)

Is that true? Did people last year AGAIN decide not to dress up?

    I know I saw a few in '05 that didn't dress up though :redface2:

Personally I don't see what's so hard to dress up a little anyway. I own a few shirts with collars just for smart casual. Oh well hopefully that won't happen again this year
