I remembered in the comic of pre-TF1, Bumblebee was a guardian of Allspark, that means he's at least an adult by that time. But in AOE, OP somehow mentioned that he kinda raised Bee like a son when talking to Cade. Did the writer forget about Bee's age or did he just joined the army when he was still a kid?

They were written by different people and the movie writers aren't beholden to the comics.

I'm not sure I understand the confusion. Wasn't Optimus speaking about the past in AOE?

Comics and game events are not canon until it is confirmed in the films.

He was, so I don't see where the confusion lies.

I thought he was talking about Bee's childhood, since Cade was complaining about his teenager daughter back their.

Well, Drift also did refer to Bee as a child. Between what Optimus said and Drift's comments, I take it as Bee is still pretty young. Possibly the equivalent of an 18-20 year old human, so not quite a full fledged adult.

A 300 year old Transformer may be the equivalent of 3 year old human toddler(Sorry if I got that wrong I don't know much about that since I don't have kids yet) for all we know. xD

Yes. He was comparing Bee as a child to Tessa as a child. He wasn't saying Bee was currently a child.

That scene made me think OP and Cade had a parenting talking there so I just thought Bee might be same age as Tessa. But then I realized their war has been going for millions of years, in that case Bee should be a kid at the beginning of the war. There comes the confuse. But since comics and movies are not actually tied together, Bee could be much much younger whenhe met OP.

I think the comics have been retconned out of existence. I think the implication is that Optimus raised Bumblebee as his own.

yeah...but in the first movie ending, OP did call Bee 'old friend', 'guess either writers changed their minds or cybertronians don't have the acknowledge of parents.

Oh, boy... I don't even know how we're supposed to assume Cybertronians reproduce in the movie universe. In the first movie, they're supposed to be created by the Allspark, then the Decepticons have hatchlings in ROTF, and finally in AOE, we have these Seed things. Then again, Prime never states that "Oh yeah, Bee's my son lol" in the movie, so...

I always feel lost when talking about their biological stuff...
Yeah, at least OP never said he raised Bee, but their relationship is between friendship and family love IMO

Maybe it's me, but it's not that confusing....

The Cube: gives life to Transformers. No one knows really how it works, even Optimus.
ROTF hatchlings: the Decepticons were trying to mimic the process of the Allspark to create new Transformers. It wasn't working, because it wasn't the real process.
The Seed: creates "Transformium." Does not create actual Transformers.
