I've heard the guys on the TFwire podcast say that there are alot of QC issues on the TFA figures that are available at retail now. How common are QC issues on the line and are they limited to any particular characters or are they line wide?
Just the usual paint issues and the occasional loose balljoint. Nothing particularly widespread or problematic, at least anymore than any mass-market toyline.
OK, since theres no major problems I'll go order them now. And I'll stop listening to what TFwire says.
Don't forget the problem with Lockdown's hands. Don't push them out too far. Once the small tab stops you, DON'T push them any further.
It's not really Q/C, just two minor misdesigns. -Lockdown's hands can't unfold all the way -Bumblebee's stingers can't retract all the way Both problems can be fixed with little-to-medium effort and a hobby knife.
Not a big issue, but Prowl's leg ball-joints can sometimes be VERY LOOSE... XP. Tends to be rather frustrating when you're trying to pose him or transform him and the legs keep popping off... Luckily, its easily fixed with a coat or two of clear nail polish. Soundwave's legs tend to have the same little problem. Though strangely all the ball-joints on Jazz are quite tight. Lockdown's hands... yea... and the fact that when I was starting to transform him his legs popped right off the joints (thanks Hasbro -__-") But these are minor niggles... The only other thing that annoyed me was that little mechanism thing in Starscream that controls the nosecone - its a little glitchy sometimes
Firstly, in defense of Noisemaze he HAS made a positive post - he likes the Ratbat repaint of Sideways. (Mind you, why he posts in Animated threads when he doesn't like the line gets me) As for QC issues, I've had my share: - Prowl's head paint apps can be spotty - I brought one back due to crappy head paint. - Starscream's had a few - the one I picked up had a hand that wouldn't stay on (it kept popping off the joint if I moved it) so I returned it. And others at Cybertron.ca have reported that some have loose heads.
I've seen the Lockdown hand problem firsthand, and I'd say that's the only major QC problem so far. My Bumblebee has a very loose right leg-it wobbles at the knee- I don't know if that's widespread. And I've gotten two figures with mismatched parts, but that was just a fluke.
Lockdown's hands and BB's stingers are design flaws, not QC errors. Prowl's legs, face, and Lockdown's legs are QC errors. That's all I've seen from the 11 I've owned.
The only real QC problem I've heard of that is almost consistent all-round id Prowl's head. I guess so much painted detail on such a small area is too much for the Hasbro machines after the movie line. I think that was Eric. But as for Noisemaze: It's as simple as that.
my lockdowns legs cannot stay on the ball joints. its pretty pathetic. hes pretty much a parts former.
Some people have made complains about Prowl's hands, I don't own the figure, so maybe someone could enlighten us.
