So I didn't order MP05 his first time around and now with the second preorder up I am perplexed with whether to order him now or to wait for next year's supposed MP07 complete Prime/Megatron 2 pack.
I am not super impressed by MP Megs (the darn drunk can't stand up), but I think I should break down and get him anyways.
I really don't need another Prime but his trailer and Megs' accessories would be nice and at preorder price might still be worth it.
    Opinions?

If you're concerned about future costs for Masterpiece Megatron if you hold off on MP-05 and MP-07 doesn't materialize, I'd say buy MP-05.

The MP-07 Perfect Convoy/Perfect Megatron has no information yet besides a rumor from someone across the sea. I have no idea whether that rumor is true or not, so holding off on MP-05 is taking a huge chance.

How many times now have were heard the Masterpiece Grimlock rumors?

Point well made, maybe I should preorder him up.

I really can beleive the Megs/Prime MP07 thing though as it would be very easy for Takara to do, and it's not like we've seen even any concept art let alone prototype materials for Grimlock or any other MP. I think the whole Grimlock thing involved 'a little bit of rumor and a lot of fan hope'.

I definately agree with you that MP07 could be the Convoy/Megs set. It seems very plausable and very cost-effetive from TakaraTomy's end.

How about this scenario? I never foresee the price of a Masterpiece Megatron going down below a regular online store price, whether he's sold alone or with a MP Convoy. If you agree....

Buy a MP-05. Resist all urges of opening it up, package it up so it's nice and protected, and put it on a high shelf. If that MP-07 rumor is indeed true, sell the MP-05 or use it as trade bait for something(s) of equal value. If the MP-07 rumor isn't true, rip open the package and enjoy!

As with any of the various options in your decision dilemna, you're always taking a chance that something won't go your way. In this scenario, it would just be that you don't get your equal or greater value from selling MP-05 if the MP-07 rumor turns out true.

Another option that some people do, which in my opinion looks great, is have one in alt mode and one in bot mode...

so basically.. buy an mp5 now and then if the 2 pack comes out... get that as well..

I have no idea what you're talking about him not standing up. I've never had an issue with his stability.

You must not have him. He's as sturdy as a brick.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say a brick. He's a little wobbly around the knees, but not exactly detrimentally so, either.

Takes some playing to figure out how his feet work, but once that's settled, he can take some nice dynamic poses without worry of toppling.

I was in the market to get MP-04 I wanted prime with a trailer. Now that I heard rumors of a re-release with Megs I decided to wait it out and see if happens. Plus MP-04 is like $280 or more on e-bay.

No I don't have him, I've had my hands on him a couple of times though, I don't mean when he's standing at attention but if you try to pose him outside a fairly stiff pose he gets top heavy (however I didn't play around with the feet like MX says at the bottom of the last page).

Anyways, I think I'll preorder mp05 later tonight!

Yeah, I own Megs and I have difficulty in keeping him standing and his arms seem loose i.e he seems so flimsy. The design's nice but IMO the most disappointing TF I have ever bought.

MP-05 will stand in any pose you want pretty much. I've had my sit in several really dynamic poses and never once had a problem. If you have loose joints though, you got lemons, but the situation is easily remedied.

clear nail polish or future floor finish. get it down inthe joints. :)  if you go with polish, I recommend taking the joint apart though.

Buy Both, keep the MP-07 MISB

I may sell my extra MP-05 that is MISB and Unplugged, torward an MP-07, but as of right now I am happy owning two.

Mine is also very stable, heck he is standing on a shelf 8 feet off the ground, so he better damn well be stable. (Anouther reason I bought a 2nd one)
