I've gotten similar calls, but for prescription meds refills. They can be very persistent. Annoyingly persistent.....that is up until you tell em you have no prescriptions (then its insert foot in mouth).

But I didn't listen to that whole 35 minute long call. I fast forwarded to the end. LOL @ "I think you are making fun of me".....OH YA THINK? Took him over half an hour to realize someone was mocking him.....*shakes head*

You want to protect yourself from telemarketers? Privatize your home phone number. That's what my mum and dad did and we've never gotten call from them.

Don't get too comfy with a privatized number, we're not talking about legit telemarketers that follow the rules here.
If someone you know falls for this and your phone # is extracted from their computer they will use it, this is a scam - not telemarketing.
Privatizing your number may make it harder for them to find but don't assume they can't/won't call because of it.

They don't know, they are banking on you falling for it, they even call people that do not even have a computer and tell them the same story.
They claim they are certified/authorized by Microsoft, which is a lie/scam.

Tell them you're a telemarketer serial killer, and that he's #95

I've always liked the Jerry Seinfeld approach of asking if you can phone them back when you're not busy.

This. Or buy an answer machine - I find that puts them off.
