    Puppy rescued from canyon
Glad to see there are good decent people in the world...then I read this...
Really? You cant drop the dog off at a pound or shelter? You have to leave it in a canyon to die? Theres a special place in hell for people like that.

I have to agree these people who mistreat dogs or any kind of animals need a swift kick in the head.

You don't treat an animal like that. If you are going to do that, why even get a dog???

    Props to the rescue man.

Exactly what i was thinking when i saw the thread title. I gave my dog a big hug after reading this article. We all know there's many many issues wrong with the world, but hurting innocent creatures for no reason shouldn't be one of them. Did anyone read the comments after the article on that site?

Idiot who was probably dropped on his head at birth^

Maybe i'm wrong here but usually people who hate animals have the same personalities and characteristics. Usually it's selfish people who only care about themselves and taking as much place as they can anywhere they go. Those people don't care about other folks either. That's what i've noticed anyway, maybe there's exceptions, but i've yet to see that.

I agree...people who hate and abuse animals and/or are completely unable to understand why other people love plants and animals, tend to have very little respect for life in general in my experience. I also find the people who value animals based only on their monetary or physical usefulness (throwing them away without thought when that changes) to be almost the same.

Makes me sad when I wonder how that attitude was shaped when they were a child. Sad for them because they will never know what its like to interact truly lovingly with anything, they'll just have a shallow idea of it.

That puppy's new owner, however, will know. :)

This goes hand in hand with that stupid idiot that threw a dog over a bridge 6 or 7 months ago. I can't stand people who are cruel to animals and pets.

Thats one lucky puppy. Thank goodness the poor thing is alright now. Somebody buy this man a beer :D  I can't stand people who mistreat animals like that. Like that asshole who threw that dog off a bridge last year who I wouldn't hesitate to kick him right in the stomach.

Watching shows on Animal Planet where the police go into a home and find a dozen dogs or so completely mistreated gives me a sickening feeling in my stomach. If I had the money and the time, I'd go to my local animal shelter and adopt as many dogs as I can. Buy a ranch somewhere, raise them and become a dog breeder.

Honestly, it's a puppy for crying out loud! How could someone abandon the poor thing like that? If you can't sacrifice the time or money to care for it, ask your relatives and friends if they want it, put an add up on craig's-list, if all else fails then donate it to an animal shelter, and I'm guessing young animals tend to get adopted quicker than the older ones.

I still do my best to help out with any missing pets, finding lost pets and contacting the ASPCA about it. I've even taken a stray cat in and cared for her. Coincidentally, it was around this time last year that she showed up in our yard, scratching at my windowsill and meowing :lol  she was so adorable I had to give her a home.

btw not to get off-topic or anything, does anyone know any good medication for cats and dogs to get rid of fleas? I've tried flea dips, atleast five different brands of shampoos, droplets, and collars and nothing seems to work. My dogs are nawing the hair off their asses from the constant itching and I'm forced to bathe them every week or so or their coat gets all crappy looking.
