“God be with you Frank.”
“Some times I would like to get my hands on God.”
That’s one of the corniest lines ever.
This movie = EPIC FAIL
They had it right with Thomas Jane - I loved that movie. He was the perfect punisher; quiet, pissed, and bad ass. No cheese. Then Marvel had to piss of the director, the writer, and finally Jane. This reeks of Steven Segal on acid. Ray Stevenson is an awful choice...this may be right up there with Batman & Robin as one of the worst comic book adaptions ever. Everything is forced.
EDIT: This may be worse than Dolph Lundgren...
Honestly, it seems like a step backward for the franchise.
Beat me to it. QFT.
Yeah, when they showed the neon blue fluid, that was my first thought about Batman and Robin may be losing the title as worst comic movie ever.
I guess I like chesse, 'cuz for a Punisher movie that doesn't look bad to me. Ray looks and sounds like a Punisher character to me. Only thing that looked kinda bad was that they seemed to milk the chandelier move a little too much in the trailer.
In order for the new movie to work, they need to reinvent the one-man-army plot and give us some new action sequences. Most of us have seen Die Hard, Police Story, The Professional, Rambo, Hard Boiled, etc. So with all the new super hero movies coming out, watching a normal vigilante, who isn't named Batman, go after mob bosses doesn't really sound that exciting.
I actually have really high hopes for this movie. I loved the Thomas Jane Punisher. And this guy looks and sounds the part. I will go see it.
I was expecting Arnold to walk out as Mr Freeze
Isn't Frank Castle supposed to be a no nonsense, meat and potatoes, kill or be killed kinda guy?
That chandelier move reeks of Neo from the Matrix...and I don't really want that in the Punisher. Does anybody know if he ever did anything that over the top in the comics before?
Now I kinda know why Thomas Jane walked away from this one and here I thought he was just being picky.
After seeing the trailer I may now pass. I loved the last one, but this is a turd from the looks of it.
As soon as I heard, long ago, that they were making another Punisher movie without Jane and the reasons why he quit, I knew this had no chance of succeeding at all.
Looks like a decent shoot-em-up, but what the Hell is up with that body armor? I didn't know the Gap made armored turtlenecks.
And are they rebooting his origin? Last I remember, his son was killed on some pier, but in the beginning of the trailer he's cradling his son's body in the park.
I know nothing about The Punisher but I do enjoy explosions and terrible movies so I will certainly watch this once it is released.
Seems to be a big let down...and the fact it seems like it's another reboot to the Punisher name is a big disappointment.
It doesn't look completely horrible so far.
But man, it looks like they went all-out and used MS WordArt for the text in that trailer.
Also, Ray Stevenson sounds like Duke Nukem.
Meanwhile, I really thought I was vastly in the minority in liking the Tom Jane Punisher before this thread. Glad to be wrong.
That's the strait up coimic book origin, family killed in a park by mobsters when they witness a hit. I'm going to give this a chance as I liked Pullo in Rome when he was all mad and killing things so I don't see any reason I will not like this. As for the first (good) Punisher movie I like about 95% of it (it did have a bit of it's own cheese). My one gripe with the new one is if your going to reboot it why not just adapt Punisher:Born or do a more faithful addaption of Welcome Back, Frank.
Looks like crap. Punisher is not some John Woo Bullet Ballet shit. Punisher should be Rambo. No fancy stuff. Just ass kicking and blood letting.
looks badass can't wait to see it
Man I wish that this was the universe that got a sequel WITH Thomas Jane. That guy was a great Punisher.
