As I went back and forth with the shoulder 'fix' that may or may not be (this isn't the place to debate that, there's other threads for that), I noticed that mine and a friend's vehicle mode has a slight difference in painting across the grill of the car. I didn't see any other threads about this so I figured I'd share this! Using a silver marker, I filled in the missing silver trim along the hood of the car for the center piece, then removed the silver strip along the bottom of the grille. Seems minor, but then helps to visually line up the pieces in the end. Below is before and after:
Not sure how to give feedback on something so minor, but that sure is a good single straight line you got there.
I think it kind of highlights how out of whack the fenders are in comparison to the center. Can they be lined up better, or is this due to the assembly issue?
Thanks! I felt awkward for making such a simple post, but once I noticed the difference it was hard to not address it. It's like - Hey, look at me, I can mark a line!
You're right - my driver-side fender doesn't line up right; it was like this with the shoulder done either way. It also looks like it bows out at the bottom despite trying to squeeze it better. I might need to bulk up the tab on the fender where the hood tabs in to see if it helps push the center up a pinch to line it up better.
Great little tweak. I added silver to the top of the hood piece like yours, but I'm not sure how to remove the silver strip from the bottom of the grille. How did you remove it?
