Pulling the Trigger on another TF film might not seem bad.

While another film may seem unnecessary to some, lets think about it for a second. Ever since the first Transformers film, our biggest competition has really been Harry Potter. Now that Hp is done for the moment (baring an unexpected remake of some sort) most of our competition is out of the way. Surveying the rest of the playing field the only movies with potential to possibly match a Transformers film in box office are either a Twilight film or some sort of Marvel/DC movie. This is just me speaking though, i'd love to hear everyone else's input.

When it comes to movies, what's "necessary?" Every movie ever has been unnecessary.

DOTM may make a billion dollars. There will be another TF movie.

As for a legitimate story-based logical plot thread linking the next movie to the previous movie, this franchise hasn't had one of those yet, so why worry about it now?

    This.

Money = Sequel. Story and plot is irrelevant.

Even though I'm hoping for another movie, I just don't know how it'll be like.. No Michael Bay and Shia, so it will obviously be of a different feel. DOTM would be a good way to end a trilogy... So right now, am kinda at a lost at where the franchise is headed... A reboot also just doesn't feel right..

We already have some kick ass designs like Dino and the Wreakers that didn't get to shine much in DOTM. All we need is 1 or 2 more Autobots, and a few new Decepticon evil doers and it set to go.

The humans are irrelevant we can introduce new guys no problem. Maybe this time the main huamn character will be someone from NEST that can actualy help the Autobots and fight with them insted of Sam who comes off as shoved in and useless in ROTF and really annyoing and jerkish in DOTM.

A film with Lennox and Epps as the main humans would be awesome.

I like how you view everything else as the evil competition, and think the playing field is safe now that Harry Potter has ended. You're forgetting Batman, Spider-Man, and a zillion other huge franchises, but why does it even matter? Transformers is not having any trouble making huge box office. Do you really think executives were waiting with bated breath for Harry Potter to end so that they can "safely" make more? That's patently absurd.

Why do you guys want to see Lennox as a main character? The guy has about as much charisma as a piece of dry firewood. He is a one-dimensional soldier character, there isn't a single interesting thing about him. He could have been played by anyone.

there is no legitimate robot franchise besides transformers at the moment....it will be milked to death just like pirates4.

Agent Simmon and Dutch are 100x better than Epss/Lennox...

To the displeasure of others, a 4th film is probably inevitable at this point. No movie can make over 500 Thousand and not have a sequel, but the plot's gonna be messed up. They might pull a "Decepticons tricked us and Cybertron's not dead" card.

if we had 8 harry potter films and 6 star wars movies (3 of which are a disgrace to cinema) i think we can have another 3 transformers films.
