Nice work, but hardly original. Maybe you should have put some black on Thrust to break up the red.

Am I then only one that wishes that the average kitbasher/painter could move past mimicking this years botcon set or doing Screamer repaints? :S

lol ! I've seen plenty of seekers repaint and I enjoy every personal touch.
I'd say I'm fed up with the altenators line 'cause it's endless repaints as well but hey!, who am I to judge!
I aimed ramjet to be toon accurate and used the G1 toy thrusters and I am pleased with the results.
He is darker than in the picture but without the flash, the picture would have been out of focus.
I had not seen a Ramjet with wings positioned like they were in the cartoon.

I don't think you were, intentionally, trying to be mean but I think this is one of those times when you didn't really need to express your opinion.

How do we know if this wasn't thought of/started before the Botcon set was announced. He was just showing off what he did and your negative comment overshadowed your nice comment and suggestion.

I'm fortunate enough that I am going to Botcon to get my set. But if I wasn't, I would also be making all of the seeker jets, as well.

Nice job on the bashes Ptitvite and also on your digibash, backdrop.

People put their work up here to get comments. I said that it was work well done, and was appreciative. Hell, I dont have half the skill it would take to paint anything coherently.I

just commented that people who make Classic seeker into G1 seeker repaints aren't going to be winning any awards for original design any time soon.

    Still, nice work :thumb

This was planned the second I saw Classics Ramjet's prototype...Was just waiting to see him on store shelves. Other kitbashers would probably say the same
I had done Skywarp and Thundercracker before they were announed to be Target/Botcon exclusives.
    Thanks for the comments

I understand what you mean. I am not looking for an award. I'm focusing my kitbashes on G1 era because I'm 31 and I don't care about Armada, Energon or Cybertron lines. The Classics/Titanium line is my cup of tea.
I have plenty of other kitbashes started and I hope they will please and inspire
other kitbashers. Soundwave, Constructicons, Blitzwing, Cyclonus, Insecticons, Blaster, Cosmos, Shockwave, G1 Skyfire toon accurate....and more as I get ideas.
Repaints are just faster to do and I have not so much time to kitbash.
I just can't explain the feeling of stairing at my G1 era kitbash/repaints collection.
Taking time to make a photoshop display is only eye candy

Thanks for the nice comments everybody
    Boggs:
I really liked your Thrust. What do you think of mine? I used G1 original thrusters...They don't seem oversized...I think
In bot mode wings are downward like in the toon

He looks good, the only thing I would change is maybe putting some gray around his hip area to break up the change from legs to his torso.

the wings look good, I originally tried to put mine on his legs or possibly do what you did, but instead went ahead and put them on his back. Yours is more toon accurate.

They all look good. I have yet to make a Dirge.

hmmm, I had no intention of modifying...That said, I just watched Thrust being roadkill by Prime (in the TF movie) and as hard as I wanted him to look like toon version, a bit of grey does appear on both sides of hips (sides of ass). That will take 5 minutes to hand paint.
Thanks for the comments boggs and I love your seekers

Agreed Boggs. Excellent work, however, definately a little more gray in the hip area to break up all the red. But otherwise, well done, man!

Nice work! I enjoy every TF custom project I see in some way :)  Your enthusiasm is also contagious as well :D

I picked up enough Classics Seekers to make my own set as well (as I won't be getting the Botcon set, as cool as it looks). I'm saving this project for a rainy day because my Alt customs take priority. :poke

Props to you on your Photoshop illustrations as well! Making eye-candy is fun; PS = crack :lolol

Could you discuss how you made Thrust's wings?

yep, good job man. If you could, your submissions for the board gallery need more pictures. (requirements are 10 or more photos, with renamed files, no camera gibberish)
