Wow, that was quick, first he got fired and now he's dead.

A legendary football coach is dead.

I heard about this on NFL Network this morning....

It's sad that the sexual abuse case was mentioned MORE than his accomplishments. Granted, he SHOULD of done more, no question but can't networks mention the scandal tomorrow?

My mother taught me if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all.

So in response to the news that Mr. Paterno has passed I say.........................................

Agreed. The other stuff (that will probably remain a substantial part of his legacy) doesn't really need further comment anyway.

Doesn't matter what a man accomplishes, if he fails the worst when it counts the most....

That's what should be written on his head stone.

My sympathies to Paterno's family for losing a loved one.

As for Paterno's legacy, I think there are certain things a person can do, or help to cover up, that completely invalidate anything positive they might have accomplished.

RIP Joe Paterno. He's done a lot of great things for Penn State and the community I live in. He was a loyal, devoted, loving, and all around great person. He loved what he did and I just wish that his career ended with more respect. He is an icon.

...Someone with both feet in bounds better be open, or we're going to have problems.
