Ok, Later this year Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles is being released for the PSP Later this year, I think in september-november, not exact yet. But I see that it'll be some time until the game is released. This obviously means that i'll need to get myself a psp. There a few other games I want for the PSP, too. My question is, when should I get the psp and what should I get for it (media/hardware wise).

    Thank, GS0.

I would wait until a price drop, which may happen.

Let's see... Must-get hardware for the PSP...

First off, get yourself a decent-sized memory card, at the very least 2Gb. MP3s, Playstation 1 games and homebrew apps (if you decide to go that route) take space, so the bigger the memory stick, the better!

A USB charger/cradle is handy to have, as you can easily transfer files and keep your unit fully charged. I've got a Gamestop model, but there a zillions of other models available

Last but not least, you must get the Logitech Play Gear Portable acrylic case to protect your handheld. It's even customizable, here's mine:

That is badass, Hook. You don't happen to have a template saved for it so I could make one too, do you?

    Yep.

Simply go in Photoshop and print it out, it'll fit perfectly between the PGP's rubber insert and the acrylic case.

I don't like the pgp at all.
Mine's the mad catz leather cover. It screws directly into the psp, and folds completely out of the way when you're playing.

Hmm, sounds cool, I might have to check it out. I'm a sucker for leather cases and such.

I liked the Logitech case, till abtou 2 weeks ago. The dam thing put a huge scrape in my PSP screen. I checked inside the case and foudn nothing, but for the month I dindt play it, it was in 100% perfect shapoe when i put it in. It was movied once a or twice in the case in that month, and its got a f'n scrape....

Target has a hard shield protective case for 10 bucks. It also screws in to the console, but only covers the front part and not the back.

That is very odd... I've been bringing my PSP everywhere I go on an almost daily basis for the past 6 months and it still looks pristine.

Maybe your PGP has a defect?

    *EDIT*

I've also got a Hori screen protector, which also helps, so that may be part of the equation as well.

I have it, Its by Logitech the same makers as the Playgear case. It doesn't actualy screw in but just has two pegs that fit into the screw holes. It also doesn't fit snug so dust still gets in between the screen and the cover, which is also a pain in the ass to get put back on without any dust or fingerprints. I still use it since most things aren't visible once the units on and its the smallest (other than the sticky film covers) screen protector. I have the playegear case but its just too large to let me take my psp in my pocket.

Theres a small program on Logitech's site that lets you do something similar. They want you to use their custom paper but I just pull the rubber piece out and trace around it then cut it out (I use both sides of the paper too).

I think you should stick with your case, it's too awesome. The leather kind of smells, too. Not the nice leather smell, the bad leather smell.

Man, I hear that. Can't believe I stuck with 1.5 for so long.
