I am looking to add a PSP to my list of consouls. But I was told to wait for the PSP lite. I know of it, but I do not know a release date.

    Any ideas?

I believe it's next week. The Star Wars one is sometime in October.

I think it might be wireless video out only via the PS3. Not sure about that, but that's what I remember. You can get the wires and connect directly to the TV though.

I love my PSP to bits, I really do. But for some reason I'm finding myself reluctant to get too excited about this.

It could bethat the differences between this and the old PSP aren't as significant as say, the DS and DS lite. But I could be wrong. The price is right after all...

It outputs to your TV via component cables, and the movies are supposed to look DVD quality. It has a new caching system that makes games load and stream faster, it's a bit lighter and a slight bit thinner. I'll be getting one as soon as I can, trading in my old PSP for it.

I might trade up if they can still be modded. No point if they can't.

I sold my psp a while back, I had high hopes for this new one, but it really offers me nothing.

As I said before, I never have a problem with its thickness or weight. It was too long to be pocketable before, and its too long to be pocketable now.

I'm looking forward to playing some of the games on my HDTV, like Silent Hill Origins, and the Castlevania game coming soon, not to mention Monster Hunter and Star Wars Battlefront. I mean I use it as a portable when I go on road trips, but now I have a nice way to play it at home.

I'll probably wait to buy one until God or War comes out for it. Unless I can't wait and buy one just to play the demo :)

Honestly, I expect it to be possible within days of its release, if not the day of. PSP hackers are amazingly fast these days.

Already been done. I just bought a replacement faceplate for mine since I dropped it and it looked like a dog chewed on it so I'll be keeping it.

Tv out didn't look so great, it was heavily cropped for games. Not sure about movies but the ability to watch UMD movies on my TV isn't why I barely bought any, it was the price that generally was more than the DVD versions.

They should have done that in the first place. They might have sold more movies on UMD if people weren't limited to only watching it on thier PSPs.

The Slim isn't wowing me the way the DS lite did. It seemed like a much better upgrade. I won't pay money for a new one. However, I do have a replacement warranty on mine, if it were to break before May of next year and slim was the only PSP available, i'd take it.

There are a few movies I own on UMD that I don't have on DVD, so this will definitely benifit me, especially if they look good on a bigger screen.

Hey Pscoop, you playing this weekend? I saw you on yesterday, I think, but I was on my way out.

edit: Hey Scoop, I just read what you said about the Warranty. don't quote me on this, but if you got it at EB or gamestop, you should be able to ask for the newer one with that warranty, especially if you get a cool manager. I remember returning my orginal Xbox because it was acting up, and I received a new one with the S controller and Sega GT and that Skating game by Sega, because of my Warranty. Something that my original didn't come with.

Will there be a reduction in price of the old one now? I never really wanted a PsP, but I want to play Super Robot Taisen MX.
