    Sony + digital-downloading = mega-FAIL.

    As much as I dislike the UMD format, no way in hell would I trade-in the physical media for a download -- and a completely breakable promise that I'll be able to access said downloadable games in the future. You may as well set your wallet on fire.

    Then again, since a hardware refresh doesn't solve the PSP's main problem (severe lack of new titles), setting your wallet on fire is probably more entertaining.

    That argument is as old as the ol' trusty "PS3 have no games". There are games. Just because they aren't to your taste doesn't mean that they aren't there. I have yet to download a game from PSN for both PS3 and PSP that I can't redownload later if I need to make room. Not to mention that on the PS3 front, I can even download it to 4 PS3s that aren't mine, so unlike Ipod and 360, Sony isn't as tight with their digital service, and the reason for that is probably because they don't want people to fear digital games. Because after losing like 70 bucks in Itunes songs once (my PC crashed bad) I swore off digital downloads, but I have deleted Wipeout and Ratchet and Clank from my PS3 like 4-5 times and I can always get it back because the store knows that under my email that purchase was made. I'm not ready to lose physical media for my main consoles, but for handhelds I welcome less crap to carry around. I thank Iphone for getting me accustomed to it, and now I'm ready to try it on my PSP.

    Even if the argument of No Software was remotely valid, this year alone sees Soul Caliber, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Motorstorm, Metal Gear, Fat Princess, among others.

    "no software" was EXTREMELY valid in 2007 and 2008. there were maybe, like, 3 games actually worth placing released each of those years.

    things are changing now, but the last two years? absolutely awful. the 32X had better support.
