I like being able to download games (just check my 360 hard drive!), but I wouldn't trade in my physical game for a digital version of it. The PSP Go looks interesting, but seems a little late IMO.

Pretty damn stupid to release an upgraded product that basically none of the old games work with and not have a plan ready to go immediately.

Of course, I'm just critical of Sony in general, but I digress.

and sony already has plans to allow people to rip their umd library. So critical of sony or not they arent leaving their supporters behind "cough" xbox(original) "cough" gamecube.

This system is not needed to enjoy the library coming this year. It's an update. Just like Nintendo updated to DSI light and DS, which removed Backwards Advance playability. I'm still unsure on whether or not to buy it, but I may because I want to pass my current one to my fiance, so we can play LBP, and I like a smaller one to take to work.

for all you people bitching about not being able to play your UMD games on it, just get this. same storage as the Go for the downloadable games, and you can still play UMD games, which sony has said will still be made. and you don't have to deal with the smaller screens, odd analog nub placement, and smaller buttons of the Go. and it's a hell of a lot cheaper too.

the Go is for people who dont mind digital content. it's not a replacement, it's another option.

there's no reason anyone should be complaining about this, other than the price. thats the only valid complaint.

Ummm so why are people bitching about the price of this thing? I think a ipod touch costs about $250 for 16GB; why is it wrong for a dedicated game system to cost the same amount?

That's why I'm thinking of getting it. Because I am out of town a lot and I love my Iphone because I have all the games in my pocket with me. Sometimes I have to guess what PSP games I'll feel like playing when I take it with me, because I don't like keeping the UMDs out of their box and I don't like taking them all either. I will complain about the price, but I got an 8gig Iphone because the 16 was too expensive, so I can get a 15gig PSP, on top of the 8 gig mem stick I have. It's not a bad deal.

The second analog nub argument is pointless. IF they added it, then the people left behind after having a bought a PSP would be PISSSSSED. What Valk said, this is for folks who don't mind all their content digital, hence no one's feelings are not being considered, and if you don't like the GO, you will lose absolutely nothing by sticking with the 3000.

Because the PSP can currently be bought for $180. The PSP Go really doesnt have anything that makes it screan "I'm worth $70 more". yeah, it's got 16GB internal storage, but it's also missing the UMD drive, which is a big contributor to the cost of the original PSP.

in one bout of absolute ******edness, the PSP Go apparently doesnt have a mini USB port, and instead has some odd multifunctional proprietary port.

Wait, so no USB port? Not going to overreact until I know more, but will whatever they employ now support regular usage like the USB, or will it be a hassle like my Iphone? USB cables can be found in cracker jack boxes now adays, but if I lose my Iphone USB, I'm out 20 bucks. I hope they don't screw us on that because I was really considering replacing mine, despite the price, but if they keep removing functionalities that I really liked, I may reconsider

    Yeah, no USB port.

IGN: E3 2009: PSP go Accessories Displayed Image

look at this photo. you can see a proprietary port-to-USB cable. all the new accessories use the port. so yeah, you're gonna have to carry around a special cable (that is hopefully included with the system) in order to connect the system to anything.
