I'm wondering if the AOE Dinobots and Hound may end up having similar problems, with all the rubbery plastic and so on.

It seems that if you keep the tank treads from touching the non-moving bogie wheel, you're good. My friend kept his CW G1 Megs in robot mode and has no issues. Still not sure why it affected the G1 and not the Armada, perhaps the bogie wheels on Armada are not painted.....not sure.

Now the wheels the treads move on, I haven't seen any issue there yet. So perhaps when ur storing your CW G1 Megs in tank mode, place something between the fixed bogie wheel and the tank tread.

What about RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus?

I'm impressed with CW Leader Megatron!

Different kind of plasticized PVC for the tires. Theirs, and the Car Brothers if I remember correctly, have the tendency to split, not plasticize the chromed rims. (and even then they'll probably be fine if you're not trying to pull the tires off, but your mileage may vary. Who knows if this will hold true with the God Fire Convoy reissue)

So long as the slightly different rubbers in characters like Mindwipe don't break down, I'm happy.

"Kids aren't buying enough Bumblebees anymore... how can we justify making more movies if they won't buy a new figure of the same character they already own...?"

"What if we make movies with an organized story structure that genuinely leads the audience into the next chapter?"

    ...Awkward silence follows...

"We coulllllld... make the old toys self-destruct after a period of time?"

    "Brilliant!"

area effected only on the painted plastic on legs with faux wheels
    S DSCN1980.JPG
Status of normal unpainted wheels...optimal....recommendation proceed with caution

Can anyone confirm the CW Megatron issue? Mine's at my folks' place so I won't be able to check for quite sometime.

"Popular Children's Toys Laced with Acid." Sounds like the plotline of a 1960's Dragnet episode, I dig it.

Just checked CW Armada Megatron... actually the Tokyo Toy Show Legends Armada Megatron.

Fake tank wheels are fine thus far, no visible damage :D

Thanks for this thread! My Bludgeon has the treads all splayed out for now. I'm going to try a few things and report back when I can.

My God! The issue with CW was really fast, wasn't expecting that in a relative new mold.

Don't know what I am looking at here...

That's kind of crazy that a mold that new is affected.

Does anyone have contacts as Hasbro? This might be something nice to let them know so that future figures don't have this problem...

I have the Japanese version of CW Megs, displayed in robot mode. The faux wheels look fine so far.

Lol; I know contacting Hasbro is useless but figured there are some people here they have contacts in the conpany that can actually alert them to this

I think Hasbro made very sure to cut all those ties through staff turnovers and corporate mandates.
