Xfire is a blessing for PC gamers. It's an IM service which allows you to IM/voice chat with your friends while you play a game (unlike AIM or MSN which you have to tab out of the game to talk to people). It also keeps track of the time you've put into a game.

Why anyone would use it for the PS3, I have no idea, unless the main input device for the PS3 is a keyboard. Xfire on PS3 ? Just another useless feature.

Sounds like a good move on Sony's part. Xfire's a great service.

I use Xfire whenever on any PC title, but this seems a bit strange. I cant find my email from Xfire right now, but Viacom(95% sure it was Viacom) took over the Xfire service. Viacom has MTV, which has done alot more Xbox/Xbox360 promotion than Sony Platforms.

Agreed. Chatting while playing a game is already a feature of Live. Nothing new.

No, there is nothing up their sleeves, it is empty like their ungodly souls. PS3 is the antichrist!

Finally, Sony does something right. XFire is a great service. Hopefully the PS3 version isn't segregated from the PC version. It would be cool to be able to voice chat with a friend on PS3 while I'm playing a game on my PC.

Sony has now said there is no Xfire for the PS3, which makes more sense.

You guys really need to pay attention to that post. It says for 1 single game. Which means that this is going to be nothing like Xbox live or anything.
