Yeah, good luck. I had been planning on going up there at 6am to get some PS3s. Drove by there around midnight, there was about 15 people there already. TRU is only getting 5 systems. I don't know how many people were there for the Wii, but I'm sure there were at least 5 who were there for the PS3. I wouldn't bother waiting out like that for the Wii, it'll be easy to get at launch anyway.
i know theres a few that'll pre-order both.
Saw some people camped out at TRU this morning. I didn't even know what it was, but I figured it was more of this dumb pre-order stuff. They better hope it doesn't turn into the Xbox360 fiasco with systems overheating...
This is going to be one crazy holiday season for gamers. Thankfully I already have my Wii preorder ^_^
I figure I'll just do like I did with the Gamecube and find it in Bestbuy like a week before Christmas. Either that or buy a Wii when they come off the truck after the intial shipment since I work overnight at Target.
Damn, just realized, i'll be in Hawaii when the Wii Launches....hopefully i can find one somewhere.
so the pre-orders launch on today, sunday. interesting.
I went to my toys r us the other day, and when I walked by a few of those guys the stink coming off of them was BAD. but then again, if I dont shower for a day I can get pretty ripe myself.
When PS2 came out, I simply waited at Best Buy overnight. Waiting for Star Wars: Episode I tickets was more fun, though- even if the movie sucked.
Btw, Toys R Us did false advertising. They advertised the preorders for yesterday. Called today, they told me they had a line "starting" at noon on Saturday and sold them all around 2 or 3 that day. They didn't even wait until Sunday. So, the people who waited all night that I saw were probably a little ticked off in the morning when they found out TRU had already sold them.
If I ever stand in line overnight for anything other than:
1 - Sabres stanley Cup tickets
2 - Meeting Stan Lee
Please shoot on sight.
So that's why there were so many people outside my TRU.
I still don't get this shit. Why not just buy the systems a little while after they are released, and wait until good games come out, and all the kinks of the system have been worked out? Why do people have to be so impatient?!
People are sheep.
I called the TRU, they said they were out, called all the local ones, they were all out. I stayed home and drank beer instead.
1 - Done that, but for the Devils
2 - I'd wait for a week in line to have 15 minutes to talk to Stan.
Had a friend wait all night at a local TRU for a PS3 and a Wii. he was the 6th one there. He managed to get the wii. Needless to say, he was pissed. Only 5 PS3s for a HUGE TRU....
Thank god I swore that I would not get it until well into its lifespan like I did with the PS2.
Anyone know how many Wii's the stores were getting?
I still don't have a PS2. I wanted to wait because of hearing of many problems with the system. Then I waited for a compact system. Then I waited for a price drop. Still waiting. But the new "Satin Silver" version is tempting and if the thing drops to $99, I'll probably pick it up.
Once I'm not broke.
Oh and I have games for it, just not the system. Ain't that weird?
I'm going to wait until income tax time to pick up a Wii. That way, there will be a few more games out and I can actually afford to pick one up without going broke.
