    I've held off on getting this game, but I'm thinking about it again. I'm hearing the PC version is garbage, so which console has the better version of the game, PS3 or 360? Or does it not matter? Thoughts?

    The only thing that matters is the community. Live typically has a fuller, more lively community in their games, but whether that is good or bad is up to you to decide.

    I wouldn't really know the statistics for how many people play the game, as I only have it for the 360. I'd get it for 360 only because I know that I can always find someone to play with on Live.

    I bought the 360 version after buying the PS3 version to play with both crowds. I ended up playing like twice on my 360 because I couldn't meet up with people at the right time, so I play more on PS3 because I always see folks in my friends list playing. I would say that I wasted 60 bucks, but the few coop stories I played on 360 were worth it. Oh and being able to crank TFTM'86 music while I played made my 360 purchase worth it too. I just play more on the PS3 in terms of online.

    You will get better online functionality with Xbox Live, but other than that the games are identical. So you if have a 360 and you're already paying for Live then I'd go that route.

    I'd go with PS3. I've seen a lot of posts about cheaters and such on the 360, but haven't seen any posts from PS3 users on the subject (though I might have missed some posts). As a PS3 user that plays only multiplayer, I haven't personally come across any cheaters.

    I have the ps3 version, but does anyone notice with the 360 version that some of the textures load slowly? They do on the ps3 at times. The first time I fought a tank, he had N64 quality textures until the system caught up. It was pretty weird to look at, to say the least.
    Aside from that the game runs fine. No draw, framerate, or other graphical issues that I noticed.
    I imagine that the 360 community would be more lively as it's a bit bigger. But like others have mentioned it may be more convenient/easier to find people on PSN.

    The 360 version comes with a life-time supply of cheese danishes. Just sayin'.

    As would I, but if both are equal to you, then...

    ...I find this feature to be a life saver when it comes to multipleyer games.

    Yes, we have that loading problem as well. And it's seemed that always the 360 version has had 2 to 3 times the people online as the PS3.

    Is that directed at me?

    If so I had no such intention. While I prefer 360 I won't bash someone for owning a PS3 or getting the game for it. As long as people are having fun that's all that matters to me.

    I was merely stating an observation. People on the PS3 have said there were 800 or so online while at the same time 360 had 2,000-3,000. It is also true (according to numbers people have quoted) that PC has 200% fewer than 360 (about 100).

    If multiplayer is a big draw for the buyer and their friends are not an issue, the 360 has a larger number of people playing online. If the buyer prefers the PS3, good for them. Glad they're happy.

    Wow, thanks everybody :)  Really appreciate all the suggestions. It sounds like I will probably go with the 360 version. I don't have a lot of people on my friends list, so the bigger the available pool of players, the better. And the 360 controller is comfortable for me, I play on it all the time. The only thing I really dislike about the 360 is paying to play online--I know it's not that expensive, just rubs me the wrong way. But since I'm already paid up for a year anyway, 360 it is!

    This is you. -> x

    Point = missed.

    Also true. I just want to appear neutral so people don't jump on my back when I bitch about PSN. :lol
