Your PS3 is now a 1.1 Profile Blu-ray player. Assuming you download the firmware update that was just made available. Enjoy!

PiP, picture in picture. Potentially useful for extra features I suppose.

    Yeah, no shit, Divx Suppot!!!

Hey TwinTwist, by going wireless, do you mean connecting to it with your PSP? If so, I have a question.

I have been trying to connect from work via the internet. When I do remote play from home (via internet, not local) it works fine, but when I try to do it from work, I get a "Timed out" error. Any idea on how to fix that?

work probably has a firewall or someshit.

I have a lot of movies in that format, and if people, for example, compress TF:Animated into Divx, I can go straight into my PS3 and watch them that way instead of converting them to AVC.

I believe the DIVX playback also includes XVID. Both of which are the most common and popular formats for downloaded video.

Oh I didn't know that. That's also good to know because a lot of the episodes of South Park that I download are Xvid. Should have been obvious, but I'm slow.

At least that's what I was reading lastnight when looking for the release notes for it.

Crappy part is, I still need to use my linktheater, as the ps3 STILL doesn't work with my NAS correctly.

Yeah I have never been able to figure out how to work that. I have it set up with the 360 pretty easy though.

I was wondering if the profile update was in there, I didn't see it listed in the notes. DIVX support is pretty great too.

The first profile 1.1 movies start hitting in January I think, and deflates one of HD DVD fanboys biggest argument of HD having more features, as well as the doubt that PS3 would be able to update to to profile 1.1.

I will, or I'll message you on PSN. I'm sure it will work because a lot of My Cybertron Episodes were encoded as such. I'll try them tonight. It should be a HUGE time-saver if this works because I used to hate Burning DVDs of Cybertron to watch later, and when I bought my PS3 I would move all my South Park Episodes over, but I had to use the converter. I'll update you when I test it out tonight or tomorrow.
